So Rizzo def didn't think there was a throw coming, right? That's why he slowed up?

Wish there was a way to get both Caratini and Contreras every day. Both can flat hit.

I don't mind him if they are stacking the line up heavy wRC+.

They really start to suffer when they start prioritizing D over O.

Just take his earlier AB. Every pitch was down a D away. Instead of letting the pitcher beat himself he played right into it and hit into a DP.

That is why you are a fool to think he is every day. He is a D sub that hits left well. Stop trying to make him into this star.

Guy must be allergic to walks. Pathetic.

Who making him a star???
He a 250 hitter that plays excellent defense

He a type of player where a team can hide him in a lineup if surrounded by good hitters to play him because of his glove..

Pretty much like they used to do with most SS or 2Bmen back in the day..
Weak hitters but solid with the glove

Problem with this cubs team is they have multiple weak hitters to get away with playing him everyday

It's tough to have a weak hitting outfield of Schwarber, and Almora when you already have the unreliable Heyward. The offense from those 3 could tank a playoff season

It really doesn't matter what your OF offensive production is if your C/IF is Contreras, Bryant, Rizzo, Baez, Bote/Russell. Obviously you don't want automatic outs but it's also essentially complaining the Cubs don't have an ASG caliber roster. Every team has weaker hitters in spots.

Don't buy it. Your 3 outfielders have to hit better than the Andrews Sisters.

He can, just play Contreras in LF

I'm fine with that.

Catarini came up as a 3B and has played 1B in the minors.

Schwarber and Contreras used to rotate C/LF in AA. That is nothing new.

I highly doubt that Joe would shit on one of his boys like that though. Speaking of Contreras.

What I was also wondering is if they could make a trade involving Chatwood and bring back a quality lefty.

Maybe even Montgomery and Chatwood together.

Montgomery excells pitching to contact as show cased last year. He really lacks the SO/9 to be a high leverage arm.

But my sthough was both for Hand. Then Clev. Can utilize both in their rotation. Considering they have lost most of their rotation it helps their cause.

Cubs then promote Alozay.

Cool story. Any set of data or analysis to prove this or just more of your general basebal acumen that has led us to such gems as Kris Bryant will never be a valuable hitter?

When your three starting outfielders are hitting less than the league average that's significant

Heyward is at 4% over.
Schwarber 1% under

Almora is 13% under
Cargo 23% under.

It is what it is right now.

Their best O is:

Baez
Rizzo
Bryant
Contreras
Bote
Caratini
Heyward
Schwarber

Russell is a solid game from passing Schwarber.

So putting together a line up would be a OF nightmare.

But if you wanted to sacrifice D for O.

Contreras LF. Heyward CF and. Bryant RF

Bote 3B Russell 2B and Caritiani C.

It would have more punch but the OF gaps would be a nightmare.

Schwarber OPS+ - 97
Almora OPS+ - 85
Heyward OPS+ - 100

Rizzo - 141
Contreras - 145
Baez - 134
Bryant - 137
Bote - 117
Russell - 97

Cubs rank in major batting stats in the NL

AVG - #6
OBP - #2
SLG - #2
R/G - #3
HR - #3

But no, please tell me how the offense is so bad.

Stay on topic, I never said the offense was bad. I'm saying we could do better offensively than Almora and Schwarber and that should be the goal. Doesn't Schwarber lead MLB in called third strikes?
