I am watching the game on a Pittsburgh feed and it isn't because the Cubs are good it is because the Pirates just don't have their heads in the game.

Not in the least. The announcers are giving zero credit to the Cubs. It is really pretty amusing.

Schwarber is such a rally killer. I wish they would've traded him when his value was high.
Reading this thread after The game is over and I have the luxury of knowing what had happened in the entire game which was not the case at the time

But Schwarber was on 4 times Saturday, and is being criticized in the third inning Sunday.

And, of course, as we now know, he homered later.

If only he had a 1.000 OBP.....?
Nah, then someone would simply criticize the Slugging pct.

How are they supposed to stay focused in a game with no bean balls thrown at the opponent?

Well he's only 4-23 with RISP and 2 outs but has a .406 OBP in those situations. But the RISP metric is quite unexplainable, as it fluctuates for teams/players every year

Right, because that's what I'm upset about, and not his under .200 BA and under .700 OPS with runners in scoring position over the last three years. He's bad with RISP, and he's even worse if there's two outs. He's a bad leadoff hitter, and his fielding is subpar. The dude is a bust.

That's with two outs. His OBP with RISP is actually .311, and his numbers this year are right in line with what they've been his whole career, save 2015.

His swing is so much shorter. Add his D and this guy has been great this year. Tracked his throw the other day at 97 mph. Dude is balling this year

I'm glad he's started hitting again. His defense is always top notch, and he seems like a pretty likable guy. Easy to root for.

Do you have think that KC would do a Schwarber and Edwards for Wit deal? Move Garcia to LF after.

I'm pretty sure that KC is looking to sell off Wit and other players. I wouldn't be shocked if they deal Soler also with his good year and Schwarber would back fill as the DH. KC might even let him catch.

Not that this is a real scenerio but it does address needs.

I went with the 2 outs metric because the quote referenced "rally-killing"

I was referring to pretty much any time he has a chance to drive in runners. His splits are bad, unless there's a guy on first. This year isn't an anomaly either. He was just as bad in 17 & 18. After a certain point, it's just time to accept facts. He's like a lesser Adam Dunn, as he doesn't get on base quite as much. Look at these splits:

https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.fcgi?id=schwaky01&year=Career&t=b

.186/.325/.372/.697 career with RISP. That's pretty bad. .181/.330/.389/.719 RISP 2 outs. He's a bottom of the order hitter. I don't know why the insistence on him batting leadoff and giving him so many ABs. He's a platoon player at best.
