I just had someone tell me about it tonight. Anybody use it? Mods feel free to move to donator forum if there is my legal issues. I know Kodi isn't illegal itself but some add-ons are sketchy I guess. I'm thinking about getting a fire tv with Kodi

Someone that doesn't like me anymore used to praise its predecessor(XBMC) quite often for media and the plugins for sporting games(I think that thread was actually in the donors area). Kodi is an improvement. I media manage the old way, but it's a good program for sure and can be run 100% legitimately just as well.

Was not aware XBMC had a derivative... I used that religiously years ago. Might have to check this out.

the wife has been using kodi everyday for the last few now.. the icefilms addon has all the garbage tv shows she watches.. ive watched some old twilight zones on phoenix..since that has the complete series.. .. saw a few recent flicks.. overall kodi is decent.. ive only added icefilms and phoenix so far and they cover a lot.. ill probably look for more addons later.. especially sports if those two im using arent good enough come nfl time... havent even opened up netflix.. the aus library is trash anyway

Yes, I know people that use it and someone that can easily install it for me, though I don't think it's all that difficult. We've used it to watch UFC and boxing matches on PPV. My cuz swears by the shit, and I know a couple people cancelled their cable and run Kodi exclusively.

just added exodus.. best addon by far... g1 transformers always wins out.. even without g1.. exodus is pretty sweet..

yeah i know people that have it on their jail broken fire stick and they swear by it like allah

the only thing i don't want to do is buy it now and it ends up being shutdown or whatever...

just added exodus.. best addon by far... g1 transformers always wins out.. even without g1.. exodus is pretty sweet..

I find exodus is all I need for it. Has latest movies and all tv shows basically.

My son uses Kodi but complained just today that it is constantly buffering even though his internet in 75 meg. He is using it with wireless which I am sure slows him down some but it shouldnt be that much. Anyone else had the buffering issue?

Never and I think I get around 50 megs. Maybe it's the specific plug in he uses most? Could be a cache problem in his kodi or maybe temp files left behind. There's ways to empty those files and change the cache settings if you google it but maybe easier to uninstall it and then reinstall kodi.

Kodi isn't a service. It's a media and stream manager wrapped into a quick all in one interface. So you can plug whatever service into the program and everything has to be troubleshot from the source, which isn't going to be the program itself(unless you have blocked ports or a bad configuration), but the network connection between whatever you are using and the source. Any person can organize a stream, and a good chunk of it is peer-to-peer.

i get some buffering but my interwebs speeds are a joke..aus speeds in general are a joke.. 12mbps at the moment where i live on adsl2...most stuff i watch is fine though even at that speed...well hd is a pain but thats what sd is for i guess for now....

i cant use a free vpn with kodi.. makes it deathly slow for me.. moving in a month and the speeds are a lil better there but not by much..18 mbps... they are getting an upgrade in the area next year but its fttn and that can be 25-100mbps here.. interwebz suck here..

they gotz an app in the play store.. i use an old android phone i dont use and a cheap android tablet i bought as another dedicated tv device... then the chromecast

HDHomerun DVR on my NAS runs through KODI for the DVR portion.

I played around with it a bit on an old, dead tablet to see if it was a workable Win10 solution to a WMC replacement. I did like the GCL interface on it but I don't think they have a replacement for NHL.TV...yet.
