Sup CCS...

So, I've taken the family to multiple fishing and camping spots throughout Colorado the past two years. Despite camping at some nice lakes/reservoirs I've been left wanting a bit more. I have a desire for something that despite my best efforts on google, always leaves me with questions. So, that being said, this thread is for the campers, glampers, and family men. Please chime in with advice, recommendations and stories if the mood tickles yer fancy.

I am looking to book a week long vacation. Looking for a cabin/house with all the amenities ON a lake. Something where we can sit out back and fish from the yard/shore with privacy if we want. Something with a dock and boat already gassed up and ready. Something with a firepit, grill, Jacuzzi, you know-the works. A body of water with a variety of fish where they are almost always biting. And yeah, I'll bring MY tackle box of course, but it would be great to not fly/travel with a bunch of rods.

I have visions of "The Great Outdoors." Really looking for a luxury "camping" experience with ample opportunity for both day and night fishing (love catfishing at night with a good red and some dank green). A town nearby for sundries and groceries is a must, of course.

So, be it Texas, Alabama or Northern Florida...if you have any expertise or recommendations please hit me up. Thinking next Spring and looking to find an "annual" spot, distance be damned.

Did a trip to Dale Hollow lake once... we rented houseboats for a week which towed your fishing boats. Was an amazing time... you never came off the water. These things were sweet too... fully furnished.
TN/KY border... you never see a house from the lake.

Love that angle, not so sure with super young ones. Will check out though.

I really like the cabanas at MGM, they offer...

Oh I'm sorry, I've missed the point entirely, apologies, please carry on.

I was thinking houseboat too, Kentucky Lake or similar like Dale Hollow or Lake of the Ozarks. And just tow along a fishing boat or jet-skis. They have houseboats with AC, hot tubs, slides from the roof into a lake, full kitchens...

Well, if you feel like coming to Southern IA, LOL.

They have cabins. It's a great lake to fish. I believe the resort has Jet Skis and you could rent a pontoon from the main Marina. Not sure how old your kids are, but has a waterpark inside and also inflatable shit on their beach. Real nice golf course. You could stay in the hotel or rent a cottage. Probably not as glamorous as you are looking for tbh, but I grew up going to this lake.

If you haven't already, look on AirBnB in towns around lakes that meet your requirements.

My relatives have been doing this looking for a cottage on a lake in Michigan for a family vacation next year during the summer.

Found some pretty nice spots.

Have had good luck with VRBO... Last time we rented was a 3bed 2 bath house on the lake with a boat for $1700 for the week up in Vilas county wisconsin. The house was on a point and had water of both sides... All the amenities, no jacuzzi though... Spend more money you can find some pretty nice stuff out there..

Fuck lakes, I've always preferred river fishing (it's more active). Gilmour knows what's up:
