Kevin White, WR, Chicago Bears

No. 7 overall pick, Round 1, West Virginia

Best-case scenario: Despite trading five-time Pro Bowler Brandon Marshall this offseason, the Bears' passing attack is just fine with White sliding into the starting lineup. The rookie plays the perfect WR2 opposite Alshon Jeffery. White quickly establishes himself as a big-play threat, and Jay Cutler increasingly relies on the rookie to deliver in the red zone as the season progresses.

Worst-case scenario: White struggles adjusting to new offensive coordinator Adam Gase's intricate passing game and route tree after playing extensively at RWR (right wide receiver) in West Virginia's spread offense. Given his limited exposure to advanced football concepts as a collegian, White could experience a bumpy rookie season while he gets used to running routes with discipline, detail and precision.

My projection: 55 receptions, 800 yards and six touchdowns

I'll take it if Royal brings in 7.

considering what he gave to the other rookies as their prediction, White was short changed.

Consider the fact that he can't throw to himself.

And the guy throwing to him, can't throw well.

I think that is about right. I don't think you should expect a 1000 yard season from him when you look at the likelihood of the Bears moving to a slightly more run orientated offense with other 4 other viable receiving options. That's a successful season for White.

As long as it isn't Clausen doing it. We don't want anymore sabotage, right buddy?

When you look at the stats from the last years rookie WR class and you look at the top guys and compare there situations to whites this year
i think 55 receptions, 800 yards and six touchdowns would be more than a nice rookie season for him

Sammy Watkins 65 receptions, 982 yards and six touchdowns: with a bad QB situation but a great defence a nice WR 2 in Woods and a solid running game

Mike Evans 68 receptions, 1051 and 12 touchdowns (15 games): with a bad QB and OL, another good 1000 yrds WR in Jackson but evans was the main red zone target

Kelvin Benjamin 73 receptions, 1008 and 9 touchdowns: with a good QB and TE but no other good WR

Odell Beckham 91 receptions, 1305 and 12 touchdowns (12 games): with a decent/good QB and two other weapons in Randle and Donnell

non of these players had a waepon arsenal around them like White has in Forte, Jeffery, Bennett and now Royal who all will demand targets and playing time.
like before 55 receptions, 800 yards and six touchdowns would be nice start to hopefull long and great career as a bear :bearbang:

I think Windy is closer. White looks like pro, no wasted movement, loosing his feet to catch or extra steps most even good rookies need to get past. He motors and snatches. White looks smooth and is deceptively efficient. He's the sort of player that makes it look easy. Doesn't mean that he'll be an instant star but he looks prepared for the pro game and the teething pains shouldn't be that great. He spent last offseason becoming pro ready. This one, can concentrate on routes and getting comfortable with Jay. He's also smart and has shown himself to respond well to coaching. It won't take him long to turn words into actions.

To be picky. I think Cutler throws very, very well. He does not throw smart. He'll connect with White on some long throws and over throw him or bounce pass it on the intermediate routes. And those are the throws that aren't INTs!

He will definitely throw a ball into the ground occasionally - that's mechanics. His decision making is the biggest problem, but maybe he'll get it this time with Gase and Gase will stick around in Chicago. I tend to be eternally optimistic, but he has been a very frustrating player. They say he's a hard worker and I believe it, but it doesn't seem to translate mentally. Smart guy, but not so much on Sunday.

He might be a little too smart to listen. Ego isn't necessarily a good thing.

Well he is supposed to add an explosive element to our offense, so I wont be surprised if he has a couple big weeks, evened out by a couple where he cant seem to catch a break.

If he gets only 800 yards, I hope that 300 of them are against GB.

I wonder if cutler gets benched would white become the number one because alshon would sabotage clausen intentionally to make cutler look better?

Windy, you predicting injuries off the top of your dome now?

There is a decent chance that in some way shape or form the Bears OTs miss time, it is OL injuries happen a lot.

I also think Amos will play for an injured Rolle or replace an average Mundy.
