Pineiro so far has done better where it counts...inside the confines of Soldier Field...
I don’t know exactly what the coaches are thinking about all this, but I’d tend to agree with you because of Pineiro’s “pop” and because it does seem like more people consider him to be more of a prototypical NFL kicker.
As Hub said this morning on the Score......Fry is a decent kicker.......however when Eddie kicks there is this "sound" that comes with his kicks that indicates he is special.

Having been a long snapper in my past life I am well aware of that "sound".

Go Eddie
Eddy Pineiro is the new Bears kicker, his kicking power and accuracy is insane and with how crazy the weather gets at soldier field at times whether is raining snowing or windy that's exactly what the bears need in a kicker.
I can’t wait for EDDY DINERO to establish himself as firmly in the lead after tonight.

LMFAO

I actually still think it’ll be Pineiro, but I’ve been personally rooting for Fry. He’s just so smooth and consistent. Every kick looks the same. Pineiro’s motion is too violent to have steady consistency.

People focus on Pineiro’s pop. There’s a reason for that pop, though. He’s a grip-it-and-rip-It guy, although I will say both he and Fry impressed me with their accuracy in camp. But under the lights, you absolutely cannot miss. You just can’t. Not this year. Not now.

All that said, hell, Pineiro could come back out and never miss another kick this preseason. Anyone saying #CalledIt might want to wait until after Game 4.

But u KNOW both those guys nervous as heck. And Fry got to come out and take a chip shot extra point under the bright lights.. takes the edge off. Then Eddy has to come out and his first kick is a 48 yarder after all that buildup in camp. Dude must have been crazy nervous. So yeah... he might be fine after a few more preseason kicks. I mean certainly would prefer the guy with the big leg.

Didn’t have good vibes with pineiro before he kicked it it. Knew fry was going to drill.

Just rewatched the Fry 43 yarder...

Looks like it was Scales with a bad snap AGAIN.

Laces weren't fully rotated but the holder and Fry barely bailed him out. Man that guy blows (Scales).

You have to hope Eddy gets it together because he has more talent, he could be a special kicker. That said he missed and looked nervous as hell doing it. Fry I don't see as a long term answer but if he makes the kicks he wins the job. Hopefully Fry gets to try a 48+ yarder tonight and if he makes that can't be any debate whose job it is to lose. These are the only kicks that matter not practice or family night.

D3 longsnapper that gets paid to teach longsnapping, thanks. Again, sorry you're wrong about something again.
Well isn’t that something as I recall you saying several D3 schools showed interest but you never played for any of them
