OT: Giants Close to Re-Signing TWO TIME Superbowl Champ LS Zak DeOssie

This is actually huge for the Giants. Zak was drafted in the 4th round in 2007 and has shown incredible staying power in the NFL.

6'5" 250 lbs BEEFSNAPPER... has 33 career tackles which is an NFL long snapper record. Also has a forced fumble in punt coverage.

Zak DeOssie and his dad are the only two father and son that have SB rings on the same team.

Both were the snappers to game winning FG to those SBs

I played LS in college. It's a lot harder than people think. People blamed a lot on Parkey last season and rightfully so. However, Patrick Scales had pretty inconsistent timing.

With all of the bickering about C. Patterson being used, Running backs slipping through Pace's fingers and Eric Berry being the Bears STEAL of FA, it's #calledits like this that keep posters like me coming back to CCS.

Maybe Pace can get creative and sign a 'do it all' stud muffin like C.Patterson to do the duties instead of having a dedicated LS. Save roster space.

Honestly if Grimson had a better wind up and conventional throwing release, I bet Nagy would sign him in a heartbeat for LS for the versatility. Already know the guy can tackle. Man it would be awesome if they held open tryouts.

Trent Sieg makes a lot of sense if the Bears are looking to build for the future. Last year he played 15 games for the Raiders. Still kind of raw, but only 23 years old.

Not quite a BEEFSNAPPER but can hold his own at 6'3" 240 lbs.

Started with Pat Mannely and continues with Zak. LS is no longer a hobby, its a long term career. More parents are going to push their kids into safer positions like LS now that there is big time money to be made.
