This is right around the time that thousands of people will think about how clever they are in saying Die Hard is their favorite Christmas movie.

For serious.

Do I get to add Gremlins or Batman Returns too?

5.) All the Rankin/Bass Productions
4.) Scrooged
3.) Elf
2.) A Charlie Brown Christmas
1.) A Christmas Story

Honorable Mention: Bad Santa (Great cast...horrible movie)

Really? Oh man, I have to hear the argument for it being a bad movie.

It's absolutely revolting on every level, which at moments provided stellar comedy and the rest of the time...it was just revolting. I didn't hate it, but I have had no ambition to sit through it again since.

These are the movies I usually watch every year. No specific order:

Just Friends, The Family Man, Last Holiday, Office Christmas Party, Love Actually, The Night Before, Four Christmases, While You Were Sleeping, The Family Stone, The Santa Clause, Home Alone 1 and 2, The Best Man Holiday, Serendipity, When Harry Met Sally, Black Nativity, Friday After Next, This Christmas.

As you can see, there are a shit ton of romcoms on that list. I don't pick the movies, but I still enjoy watching them with the wife. I don't watch Christmas movies for the acting or plot lines. I just watch it to get that warm Christmas feeling.

Fun Fact: I've never watched A Christmas Story all the way through in one sitting. I've only seen it in pieces.

All kidding aside, Trancers is genuinely my all-time favorite Christmas movie.

You owe it to yourself to rent out the original house used in A Christmas Story and lock yourself in Ralphies room and binge watch in full length
