I dont know. I always equate them to Christmas. I assumed because they always came out around Christmas, but it seems more Thanksgiving and LOTR came out towards Christmas.

Ok random question, what movies do you watch at a certain holiday that have zero relationship with said holiday?

For me:
Thanksgiving -Cool Hand Luke

We used to invite a buddy of my dad's over for Thanksgiving dinner as he didn't have family in town and that was always his one request, to watch Cool Hand Luke. So we'd rent it from Blockbuster each year and eventually it got bought and it's still a thing at my house.
