Rockets aren't trading Lee and they'll match any offer he gets in FA.

Also there's already a thread on this...

I will be mad if we give Asik 8M per year. With that money we can sign a very good free agent.

I swear.... if the Bulls match the Rockets offer, I'll be extremely pissed. I would say, a most, asik is worth 4 million a year for what he does. He has no offensive game and he's no Ben Wallace [prime] on defense. He's good on D, but not great.

Bye bye Asik. Take your shitty hands and no offensive ability with you.

Why did the Bulls not trade him when they had the chance...

Some people were saying something about a turkish hammer and bs like this. I hope the Bulls won't make the same mistake with Taj. If they sign Asik now we will lose Taj next year. So if they sign Asik now they must either trade Taj or a big contract.

were there alot of teams interested?

i would think he would have probably had to have been packaged

yeah. When Omer was a rookie, there were walks between the Bulls and Rockets about sending a 1st/Omer to Houston for Lee. The Bulls pulled out because they didn't wanna give up Asik. Memphis wanted Asik in a deal for Mayo.. and the Bulls pulled out.

interesting...so the rockets were putting that on the table, or was it just speculation?

The Bulls pulled out because they didn't wanna give up Asik.
hmm..i am guessing it's because he was a rookie and they wanted to see how he would develop

i can kind of understand the reluctance

but then again, you could argue that the bulls knew his contract was up the next year, and that he might have gone to another suitor then

what were the other parts?

It was on the table. The Rockets wanted a C because that's when they knew Ming wasn't coming back.. and the bulls didn't wanna give up Asik.

Jonathan Feigen: Bulls offered multiple picks for Lee. Not budging on Asik. Only 15 minutes left to blink. Twitter

Mike McGraw: Bulls discussed usual suspects -- Lee, Mayo, Dudley, Parker, etc. Reported here last week Bulls wouldn't give Asik for Courtney Lee. Twitter

I can see why the Bulls wouldn't trade Asik at the time... but I wanted it to get done. We needed Lee/Mayo more than Asik against the Heat that year. We still had Kurt Thomas.

what were the other parts?

I think it was like two 1st round picks and Asik or Taj for Mayo. Not sure though.. Idk how deep those conversations were.

Houston one definitely would have happened if we threw in Asik.
