This is a pretty amazing feat considering the DH. The slash line is off by 1 point in OBA and Slugging but it is damn near close.

The point of this thread is to point out how this happened? Is it the emergence of super powered offensive teams like the Dodgers and Cubs? Or has pitching in the NL regressed due to rebuilding processes by many teams.

I would think a little of both. It is kind of remarkable though.

And yet the AL to date has an 8 game lead over the NL in head to head.

Here are the probable top 5 hitters in NL

Arenado .960 OPS
Blackmon 1.019 OPS
Goldschmidt 1.016 OPS
Stanton 1.044 OPS
Votto 1.039 OPS

Not sure who AL top hitters are but it could be that the NL top dogs are far much better then AL
