WE STILL WON THE GAME. I’m never going to be negative about a win. In30 years it’s going to be a W in the record books. Complain all you want I won’t be saying any bad about the win. And of course I want the team to play perfect but it’s still a W

And we probably still will not have a 2nd Super Bowl because of mediocre QB play.

This is about Super Bowls not random week 2 wins.

I wouldn't trade for him to replace Mitch, but we are going to need to get creative about replacing him in 2020.

I am also okay with being made fun of if Mitch turns it around, I do not see that as a high probability.
Well I'm glad you'll be alright with it, if the time ever comes.

I still hope we will see the same improvement we saw last year after the third game.

The Redskins are not very good on Defense, so I hope that Trubisky can get on track and maybe keep it rolling. But the fact that he and the offense have once again come out flat is discouraging to say the least....

This is why people still talk about 1985 in Chicago. This is just simply not true.
Except it can. 6 times since 2000 a top 4 defense has dragged a double digit offense to a SB championship, twice more if you throw in #9 ranked offenses . Only once has a top 4 offense carried a below top 10 offense to a SB championship in the same time frame. The illusion is that offenses win championships, but while the stats have changed with the passing era to create that charade, having a superior defense of the time is still significantly more likely to help you win a trophy.

You must have missed some of the times after Cutler's QB'ing was overcome for a win or back in the awful stat lines of Kyle Orton managing the games and letting the defense outscore the offense. I think everyone here is happy that the Denver game ended up in the W versus the L column but in addition to the concerns we all have on offense and not seeing much of a step up from week 1, we also saw our defense fade in the end and really looked just above average for most of the day. Vic and team went to quick passes and so our pass rush couldn't get to Flacco like we hoped. The short routes and gaps in the zone were very prominent and resulted in lots of 3rd down conversions by Denver (which only accentuated our poor 3rd down conversion % on offense) and then when we needed the defense the most, our offense had left them on the field so long they didn't have the energy or ability to put the game on their shoulders and grab the W. The only highlight really was our kicker alleviating a lot of the doubts. So yes, take the W for sure, but the concerns were plentiful coming out of Sunday.

How many times do ppl have to explain that they are not happy with Trubisky's progress?

It has nothing to do with the outcome of the game. The two are separate.

Why bother trying to explain something to someone who already understands. Nobody is happy with his progress. Yes the Bears won. There is no need to be negative move on to next game. Start your negativity so you’ll be ahead of everyone else already

Consider the win and the opponent, I can count only one worse opponent than Denver in our schedule, the NYG.

And no, we cannot win many games scoring under 20 points. They only won 2 last year that way, and already have one this year.
This ignores so much.

Denver, in September is a terribly difficult place to win. And to say that this Denver team is just bad ignores that they have won in the high altitude Denver heat with some really shitty teams. Add to that they wereplaying against a great pass rush and a HC that knows the HC and QB better than any other opponent. No one rationally argues that the offense doesn't need to improve, but to say this was the second easiest game on the season schedule is just ludicrous.

This is the home opener for Denver, and they always play well. Denver boasts a 45-13-1 (.771) all-time record in home openers, including a 17-1 mark in its last 18 such games. That’s when Empower Field at Mile High opened in 2001.

I didn't read through the 4 pages of responses but I would think it was similar after the AZ game in 06 when Grossman shit the bed.

The offense will improve. It has too. Mitch is the Bears QB and I will root for him to right the ship. I also believe Nagy will learn from his mistakes. Still, even before the season I thought the Bears need to look to find a competent back-up QB with starting potential in case of emergency. The offense has a failing grade through 2 games. As a fan, all I can do is watch and hope they methodically pull that grade up.

Yeah I’ll agree with you that defenses usually win in the playoffs but you actually have to get into the playoffs first. I think the more relevant statistic would be how many times a great defense has been left out of the playoffs (therefore killing their chances of winning a SB) because of an inadequate offense versus how many times a great offense has been left out because of an inadequate defense.

I love how Bears homers have gone from claiming Trubisky could be on par with Mahommes or Watson to hoping he can be a game manager like Trent Dilfer.

LMMFAO!!!

It's not like there's a scorecard keeping track of everybody's bullshit here and the shit here goes both ways.

If nothing else, take it as a Readjustment of expectations and if you need to as some sort of personal validation. They were wrong and you got to be right about Mitch being bad. Congratulations you win another decade of bears futility. Isn't it great being right?

Not sure what you are talking about. I never claimed Mitch would be a bust so what am I right about? I also said coming into this year that he could be on par with Watson if he took the next step.

I simply am not going to make excuses for his shit play thus far. The dude has been ass. All this dumb talk about Trent Dilfer doesnt change that fact and we need to stop making excuses for piss poor QB play.

Bears fans are like abused wives trying to defend their husband that beat the shit out of them. Some things are just not worth it.

Yeah, looking beyond the numbers... Big Ben and Peyton Manning at 20/18.

Even with the low offensive ranking, look who the QB was historically.

That data only hurts the point trying to be made IMHO.

You all need to be bitch slapped.

STFU with the pouting. We won on the road vs a good team. I don't care if the Broncos lost on the road to the Raiders. They played light years better vs us in their home opener than they did in Week 1. Any fool could see that.

We have the defense to beat every team in the NFL while scoring under 20 points (except maybe the Chiefs and Patriots).

So while you wanna see some high flying performance from Mitch and the offense. We don't need it. They just need to be slightly better than Orton's 2005 squad.

Deal with it.

Reported for threat of violence.

Also, "we" didn't win shit. "They" won.

Thanks
