My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Illinois Fighting Illini
Trading Mack won't solve problems. The team clearly misses Hicks. But without a QB, the team is suffering, and so is Mack. If the defense wasn't on the field for 80% of the game, then Mack wouldn't look so bad. It appears Mack is at his best when we have an actual offense for him to get his rest. We don't have a pass rusher outside of Mack, so we need him. We can't take two steps back by trading Mack and having a glaring hole on defense. Yes, we need draft picks. We need a better OL. We need a better QB. But you don't create a glaring hole to fix other problems that may take a while to develop.

So we're back to................ HELP MACK and the "D" out by scoring POINTS ! !

Epically dumb thread. Mack is literally the only reason to pay any attention to this team whatsoever right now.

And the reason this team will continue to be losers.

Mack has value on a team with needs and no cap space. Macks value is wasted when the team around him sucks. Bears will benefit from a trade more than keeping the highest priced player on the roster with shit surrounding him.

Kinda like the Lions did with Suh. It doesn’t work.
Trade Mack!

NO!

PHI
Philadelphia (5-4)

Chicago (3-5)
Bears

CHI

FINAL

I'm gonna keep saying it. The "D" is NOT the problem. We are not scoring enuff POINTS ! ! HELP MACK and the "D" out
by scoring POINTS ! !

You are missing the point. This team has a lot of problems. It’s just not the QB. Mack has high value. Mack has the highest defensive salary in the league. This team needs to picks and money more than they need Mack.

Bears are just one nfl ready QB to be competitive next year.

Any of Flacco, Mariota, Kaepernick, Keenum works. Their stocks are low, best time to buy if you the Bears.

Would also need Nagy to give up playcalling

If they traded Mack after this season they'd be eating over $30mil in dead cap because of signing bonuses and restructures.

Long story short, not happening.

Nope but still worth it when signing rookie contracts in replace of the the structured high end. The future is in the draft.

This has nothing to do with Mack’s past performance. It’s increasing evident that in this day of the NFL, defense does not win championships. Mack is great vs average Olines and average vs good Olines. This has followed him since his rookie year. Mack has 1 move and it’s all about strength and bull rush.

The Bears need picks more than they need Mack. Trade him for a 1st rd in 2020 draft. This will open up salary cap space to get free agents while having a 1st rd pick and two low 2nd picks in 2020.

I respect and understand the reflex to blow it all up for picks at this point, but a month ago we were rightly lauding him as a future HOF that we couldn't believe we are lucky enough to have in his prime years. Now after Trubisky showing himself as a bust, we are willing to sell him on to ??

We keep Mack, draft whoever is at the top of our QB board when we pick at 40 or whatever it ends up being and grab the best tackle we can with the Raiders pick.

Free agency will likely be about two or three mid range signings (maybe another OL, definitely a TE with a pulse) or blowing the lot on a veteran QB.

But no, we should keep Mack.

Even if we wanted to trade Mack, which we won't, we won't get the trade value we require. Only Pace & the Bears are dumb enough to give up two firsts & additional picks.

The most we're getting is a late round 1st (maybe a later round like a 3rd the following year) which doesn't help us much more than the two 2nds we already have.

We might as well keep Mack at that point. You cannot put the toothpaste back in the tube. Pace effed up thinking Trubisky was a bona fide starter.

Only once this season we’ve gotten to see this d play with their ears pinned back. Mack is getting doubled/triple teamed with no one around him stepping up.

I still make that trade.

Yep Mack is great vs bad teams or average Olines. You nor me can name a game vs a good Oline that Mack blew up.

The problem facing this team is the limited draft value along with a huge cap problem. Mack by himself can fix both of those problems. This team will not win a championship with Mack on the team. This is a fact.

This team has a good defense, but, in today’s nfl a good defense can no longer cover for a bad offense.
And, there’s talent on offense, what they need is at least a serviceable qb and and a real nfl level game plan that plays to the strengths of the players.

What about the Oline? Or TE’s?
