With all this talk about moving on from Trub, what are the options?

Would trading for Teddy Bridgewater be something worth looking into? What quarterbacks are going to be there in the 2nd round of the 2020 draft? What quarterbacks are going to be available in free agency?

Off the top of my head:

Free Agents or likely to be free agents - Cam Newton, Eli, Alex Smith, Teddy (highly unlikely) Rivers(?), Case Keenum, Mariota, Winston

Trade bait: Josh Rosen

NFL Draft: Joe Burrow, Jalen Hurts, Tua, Justin Herbert, Fromm, Jacob Eason

In other words, Bears are fucked

He just bent us over and spanked us.

Maybe a good QB will be there in the 2nd but both the Bears' 2nd round picks will likely be mid round.

I don't think any good veteran options exist either.

Pace bet it all on Trubisky with the Mack trade.

It's possible Fromm or Eason fall to the Bears' pick. I would take one of them if that happens.

How much do you think Teddy Bridgewater will command in the open market?

Nick Foles may be a trade option if Minshew finishes strong

I wouldn't move on from him after this year. Just keep rolling him out there and bottom out if we have to. In the offseason, I wouldn't mind trading for Teddy B or Rosen if we do move on from Mitch. Maybe even Mason Rudolph.

The first step it to fire Pace. Doesn't really matter who is or isn't there because the one thing we DO know is Pace can't evaluate the QB position.

I think Teddy ends up between 18-20 million/season.

Smart, accurate, but not the strongest arm, might be what this offense needs. It is complex and the WRs are schemed open you just need to see it in time.

Brees has already said he is not retiring.

Teddy will hit the market and the best thing about it.... he can read defenses.
If that is the case, Pace should call the Saints and ask them what they want for Teddy and not even risk letting him go to FA. Get him in here this year to work out the bugs to hit the ground running next year.

I would be fine with that if it did not cost us a 2nd round pick.

I doubt the Saints are interested in case Brees goes down again.

and a rookie we can develop
Fromm/Eason

In baseball we called that "taking your medicine". Turds needs to take it all in this season. The boo's and all. He set the table, now feast on the rewards. We all said it before the season, it depends on #10 this year. At the end of the year, see what is available. But for right now, we all get to watch this shitshow.

I am beginning to question whether or not Nagy holds practices during the week. Is he so afraid that they will get hurt they do walk through's? How can an NFL QB be so inaccurate, only thing I can think of is 1) they do not practice 2) He has always sucked. I am only glad I have not paid $1000 bucks to go see this in person.

Eason in the draft. Any one of several QBs in FA. We dont need an elite guy. Just one who can look like an NFL QB and make a few plays. The defense will do the rest...

I can’t shake the feeling it will be Mariotta. Rumors were Pace loved him in the draft and tried to trade for him. Also our current OC is his former college head coach. If our staff and front office stay the same my guess is that is the rout we go.
