At this point are we sure he can run at all? Last I saw was him walking with a limp a year after his injury. Nothing against the man, but for me he is an easy cut.
I'm on the fence with this one. For me, it definitely would not be a splash type hire. I'd best describe it as dull. This type of hire screams Bears front office. Would you be more onboard with the hire if Caldwell reunited with Jim Bob Cooter as OC?
2 receptions for 5 yards including a touchdown, and all that in only one half of football. It's shocking that the front office allowed that kind of productivity walk.
Vash, you literally dogged on Dalton for not playing because he had a knee "shiner". Do you consider it "absolutely repulsive repugnant reprehensible thinking" as a Bears fan to decide whomst you prefer at QB regardless of the player's health?
I had a high ankle sprain that bruised my entire ankle and top of my foot an ugly purple. Worst bruise I've had was a calf muscle tear. About 25% of the muscle torn from the tendon, the amount of blood that pooled in my lower leg resulting in bruising was ridiculous. Bruise was from my shin...
The fact Dalton came out of that with a bone bruise and not an ACL tear is remarkable. Bone contusion and ACL tears go hand in hand. With the lateral force on his knee, I'd bet he has some degree of LCL sprain whether they want to admit it or not. Regarding the bone contusion, it wouldn't...
Tell that to the players on the team including Fields and see what kind of response you get.
This narrative is played out. The Jets, Patriots, and Jaguars obviously feel differently, and it seems to have worked out well for several teams. Bottom line, if he is ready to play and is the best...
The slant pattern has nothing to do with the play name. The play is called China Special due to the passing concept. Would it make you happy if the slant pattern was replaced with a 5 yard out, because that would still be a China design. Pretty much every team in the NFL and NCAA run plays...
The OP's assumption that there is some racial connotation with China special is absolutely incorrect. This is what happens when you play Madden but don't know or understand real football concepts. China is a passing concept that has been around for ages. It has nothing to do with a slant pattern.
What is the narrative for the play Double China? There aren't any slant routes in that play. Am I to assume that Double China is racially acceptable, but China Special is racially insensitive due to the inclusion of a slant route?
I think the Vikings take Darrisaw at 14. They have a pretty glaring need at tackle after cutting Reiff. If he is there at 20, I think you take him regardless of his questionable motor. His ability and athleticism is certainly better than any tackle the Bears have on the roster.
