Interesting we haven't heard much or anything about the Bears being interested in trading down. Owners meetings seems like when a lot of this will go down.
WR/TEs with elite route running ability + savviness age well and stay highly productive until their mid 30s.
That's what Keenan Allen is. Dude's awesome and is going to stay awesome because he's an absolute technican.
Here's a recent video that Brett Kohlman did for the Chargers that outlines his absurd route running ability. One thing I enjoyed about the video was the referencing to Jerry Rice, Tim Brown and Cris Carter and how well their game aged into their mid 30s. Brown was putting up 1,100 yard seasons...
Long term I'd love for it to be a position that's locked down. Nate Davis sucked last year and JPJ is massive and can fucking run - I'd trade back and get JPJ and let him play G for a year and transition him to C the following year.
Interior OL needs to be a strength for this team going...
Gotta be before the draft. Hill and Adams were traded in late March in 2022. Both him and Higgins will be traded sooner than later.
SF can't afford him and needs the draft capital now to handle his loss.
dice.
Brian Burns - a similar player to Sweat got $5M/year + 1 extra year and cost NYG an additional 5th. Sweat if he were on the open market would have gotten a similar deal.
There were zero WRs on the market who have the impact that Keenan Allen has from both a production and leadership...
Aiyuk is going to get traded here soon it appears.
Edit: didn't mean to Chicago, we don't have money and it makes no sense for us to give to a draft pick for him when we can just draft a WR.
There will be 4 QBs taken in the top 8 + MHJ and most likely one DE.
That means one of Nabers, Alt or Rome will be sitting there at 9.
Either we take one of them or trade back for a mini haul and get JPJ + some second round WR freak prospect.
