    Is Anderson worth 1st?

He's worth it to a more complete roster. At the base level of this total rebuild, Poles needs to aquire as many high level assets for this and future years as he can. Maybe if he still had pick 32 or after a first trade down, but not at 1.

    OLINE

LT: I like Braxton Jones. 5th round rookie from a smaller conference, so I'd expect a learning curve. He seems to stay in front of his guy but gets pushed back right into the QBs lap. Give him an offseason to bulk up and work on his anchor. Come in and rewin the offseason, great. A rookie comes...

    Bears trade for Claypool

Justin Fields threw 4 deepish "make a play" balls last week vs Dallas and the receivers came down with 0 of them. This helps. It feels like an overpay, but other then the crapshoot of the draft, you usually need to overpay. Hopefully our top 3 next year look like Mooney and Claypool on contract...

    Oline future?

If all works out like that and Jones-Whitehair-Patrick-Jenkins-Borom stay healthy and look pretty good all 5 are under contract next year. Keep the continuity and add another tackle and interior guy in the draft for competition and depth plus Carter, Thomas, and Kramer.

Playing time related correct? So if Tev and Borom can hold down the right side the bears roll around 7 mil to next year's cap. And if there's a break glass emergency injury/incompetence the guys already been with the team.

QB School JF1 Preseason Review: Week 1

Progression: the act of going through his reads in the sequence of a single play. To be replaced by the word "reads" Progress: the state of improvement. To be replaced by the word "improvement" JF1 has sped up his reads. This can be seen as improvement in a sense of getting to his checkdown or...

What offensive tackle do you want at twenty?

Give me Jenkins in the 1st and Landon Dickerson in the 2nd if your docs clear him. 2 big maulers with bad intentions. LG to RT just set it and forget to give Dalton and the next guy some time and a heavy running game. ..pending gameplan choices.

Chris Long says 2018 bears offense not physical enough to make it

Nagy himself has stated that he treats a WR screen as an extension of the run game. Only thing is there's a difference in olé-ing Cohen/Gabriel/Miller out of bounds and having a meaningful push at the LOS and forcing Montgomery down.

The Bears are not going to make the playoffs next year either.

I don't think he's a bad head coach, but he is way over his head as a coordinator. People were mentioning the name Trestman at midseason. To avoid that type of tailspin he had some quality buy in from quality character players.

The Bears are not going to make the playoffs next year either.

Running into the kicker. Missed 41 yard FG on 2nd down. Dropped screen vs eagles. Yes there are issues aplenty, but it's not like this is a bottom of the league team.

How would you fix the Bears this offseason?

Gonna be tough in one offseason. The offense isn't going to be able to make that type of turnaround so I think you have to play to your strengths. Upgrade from Floyd, try to add a ball hawk in the secondary, and if you can add another mammoth to the line. This team won last year on turnovers and...

Has Nagy finally figured out you can't make a quarter horse into a plow horse.

It's likely on both of them. Nagy wanted to mold his guy to be an extension of himself. Mitch wanted badly to be that guy for his coach and for his teammates. Then you add in the injury. Meanwhile they were doing all this while ignoring what made this team so fun last year in two bold letters...

    Is Mitch a Snowflake?

I think Mitchell is afraid of failure (even though he has a ton of experience with it). He wants to do right by his guys so bad that he can't take certain necessary risks. Unfortunately failure is how we learn and how we grow. I think the a clear example of this is him thinking "ok, coach wants...

    Bears OTAs and other news

Its OTAs. I think Sowell's fairly comfortable in his swing tackle responsibilities (esp as much as linemen can do in OTAs). If Nagy wants to let him run around a bit more for a few days, run routes, catch passes, lead block, I'm all for making him a more versatile athlete in the redzone. No way...

    Bears Biggest Need: OLB

Obviously everything depends on free agency and how the draft board falls, but I feel a lot of that positional value doesn't add up. I doubt a 3rd round OLB makes much more of a difference compared to a 1yr FA deal flyer, Irving, or Fitts. Where as a 3rd round OT, OG, S, or even CB (especially...
