That's a good point. Carter got sent a message that you can work your tail off and we will still stick with incompetent vets who barely practiced over you. At this point, I would rather see a UDFA who worked his ass off play and fail rather than a vet who thinks he deserves the HOF vet...
I followed both the Pack and Bears preseason closely building up to this game. Both teams had guys out, but with the Pack those players worked their way back. Whereas with the Bears, those players always seemed to linger as far as being unable to practice. The one exception was David...
The Bears looked like a 3-14 team. No real improvement aside from DJ Moore's YAC. Glaring holes at punt return. Like last year. Chaos on the O-line. Like last year. Defenders not playing instinctive (except for Gordon and Gipson). Like last year. Little production out of the TE. Like...
Occam's razor...the simplest explanation is the most likely. L5/S1 disc space. Jenkins is my favorite Bear. Super bummed he's having troubles. Hopefully it is a simple calf strain and he bounces back.
I hadn't seen the strained calves report...Okay...that doesn't make sense. It would be practically impossible to strain both calves to a point that requires being off 4 to 6 weeks. The act of straining one would force you to stop dead in your tracks. That report is just weird.
Sports hernia could explain this...the healing time is 4 to 6 weeks. It can be hard to diagnose and so that would explain why he was on the field as of Thursday. Plus, players can compete at a relatively high level with that injury, though, not at their personal best.
Help me out here. Everyone keeps saying Demarcus Walker is one of the edge rushers. Yet, I can't find a single highlight of him getting pressure on the QB from the edge let alone a sack. The highlights that are available show a good player in the interior.
That said, as it stands now, the 4...
Khyiris Tonga has a PFF score of 79.7. Granted, it's limited snaps. But still more than double any score the Bears have on the defensive interior. Think it was a mistake to cut him. Not an earth shattering one by an means.
I think that if I were to levy one criticism against the Poles and...
I agree. PFF grades don't always make sense. But when Eddie Jackson is the leading tackler and Jaquan Brisker is #2, you know you're defensive line didn''t show up.
At least we finally have a PFF score that correlates with what you see with your own eyes. Justin Jones PFF of 39.4. That's like UDFA rookie level.
I think we can say that the Justin Jones experiment is dead.
So, the word "near" is the important word. No rose colored glasses at all. I would be surprised if Ogunjobi would have agreed to a physical before signing. In fact, I don't think any NFL contract is done that way. But I could be wrong. I think Poles made a mistake and got out from underneath...
1) Cleaned up the salary cap.
2) Got rid of players that weren't very good
3) Traded away aging vets and got something in return
4) Got decent draft picks for a player who had 9 more games under contract and inflated sense of worth
5) Had a respectable draft despite predecessor trading away a...
