Who are the true Blue Chip prospects in this draft?

There was a segment on Jared Verse on Path to the Draft. He’s another impressive young guy. He has a no nonsense attitude and says nobody will outwork him. DJ and Bucky Brooks said he’s just plain rugged. He’s the kind of guy that makes your team tougher and sets a tone up front. He fits...

    The NFL Draft info thread

Marc Ross and Bucky Brooks were discussing edge players on Path to the Draft just a minute ago. Both guys have Latu as Edge 1. I love his game too but man that neck is a worry. Ross said Turner is Edge 3 for him. He loves Verse and the talent and toughness he represents. Verse is his Edge...

    Bears seriously interested Brock Bowers

Dane Brugler on Bowers from The Beast mock draft: “10. New York Jets: Brock Bowers, TE, Georgia If you focus only on the “TE” positional designation here, you might not love this pick. But if you pay attention to the dynamic impact Bowers can bring to an offense, this isn’t a hard sell. The...

What would you give to trade up for MHJ

For anyone thinking Harrison Jr. is hyped because of his dad, here’s a reminder he’s an elite athlete in addition to being incredibly productive. From Bruce Feldman’s Athletic Freaks list for the 2023 season: “2. Ohio State WR Marvin Harrison Jr. The son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Marvin...

That’s why they’ll trade that pick to the Bears and stay in the top ten. Nice!

JJ McCarthy worthy of a top 5 pick?

Brugler has him going at 4 in today’s Beast mock draft. “4. Minnesota Vikings (from ARI)*: J.J. McCarthy, QB, Michigan (Projected trade: Vikings trade picks Nos. 11 and 23 and a 2025 third-round pick to the Cardinals for No. 4.) It is no secret that the Vikings are quarterback shopping in the...

JJ McCarthy worthy of a top 5 pick?

Dude, your (used correctly too) panties are in a bunch whenever anyone says anything positive about the Bears or negative about your (used correctly) fake team. JJ is an excellent young prospect and will be a good pro. In the right environment, he could flourish. He’s not close to Williams...

    Bears seriously interested Brock Bowers

They all played under the same coaching staff and there could be a correlation there. The Ohio State QB issue stemmed decades. I get you scout the player but all those guys were as heralded or more than Latham.

JJ McCarthy worthy of a top 5 pick?

Nice, so would you take JJ over Caleb Williams? Williams won every year he played. He didn’t win the National Championship. If you believe Michigan won because of JJ, you’re (used correctly) delusional. They won up front on offense and defense. They had a bruising rush attack. JJ is a...

Would you take Latham? Would you be concerned about how Jonah Williams, Alex Leatherwood, and Evan Neal have struggled getting acclimated to the NFL compared to their pre-draft projections?

You’re hung up on the label of TE. Several posters have tried to explain how he can be utilized including being deployed as a WR. Like WTH?

I would go that direction if either are there instead of selecting Bowers.

Ok, you don’t like the idea of Bowers. Personally, I like Odunze. Should they pass on him because they have Moore and Allen? The Bears are in a unique position to get two game changing talents. That’s what I want.

I saw him take short yardage carries out of the backfield against Auburn.

Bowers isn’t a traditional TE. He’s a big slot. He can play out of the backfield as an H back. You could line him up outside. I’d think of him more as a Chess piece than a traditional TE. Anyway, I prefer they draft Odunze but I’m certainly not going to be upset with a player like Bowers.
