Not a strong arm, but gets the ball out quick and is smart at reading the field. Probably is the next Brady, fuck it Pace trade up at get him. His college stats are pretty good, some people are just good football players despite not having elite athleticism.
I wouldn't even waste a pick on Fromm, but that's just because I don't think he's ever a starting QB in the NFL. If it was Eason, I'd be ok with it, but Fromm is a career backup so don't even waste the pick.
Never made any sense to allow Pace to pick up another development QB even in the 7th round. If Trubisky struggles this year, Pace and Nagy will be gone so the next regime will have a different philosophy on what they want in a QB so they get to identify their own guy. The only luxury granted to Pace was trading for a veteran QB (Foles) that might eek out a few wins and a playoff birth to appease ownership as far as playoff revenue goes.
I was actually surprised that the Bears didn't draft a QB. Either they don't think the QBs in this draft are good, or they don't plan on being around next year if they have a bad season. Aside from the Clemson kid, are there any other big time QB prospects next year?
