I like him quite a bit. Maybe take a year or three to get him there, but I think he's going to be great.

Have all the rookies been signed? Haven't heard much about contracts.

This is the only signing I've heard of so far, regarding 1st rounders !!!

Former Ohio State football star Jeff Okudah agrees to rookie NFL deal with Detroit Lions:

That’s usually a good reason to not use your top draft pick on one.
Not really. It really depends on where your at in the draft. In round 2 with the best TE available who also would have been a first rounder in most drafts, it's definitely worth the pick. You could make an argument that using a top 20 pick on a TE isn't worth it. But top 40? Forget it

Not when your offense is what is holding back your top 5 defense from being a SB contender. Bears needed instant impact not production in "1-3 years" when the defense is already too old.

What position are you suggesting would make a more immediate impact? WR or OL would be on the same theoretical time table.

When your starting RG is a bust who moved there from tackle, and a converted DL I find it hard to believe a 2nd round guard wouldn’t have needed a couple years to overpass that level of competition. And not to mention we don’t have a solidified #2 next to Robinson either. Not to mention you probably could have at least given some competition to Leno or Massie too.

wanted Hopkins..but yeah, i'm totally on board with Kmet. Pace is picking up guys who won't go down...hopefully Miller, Ridley and possibly Mooney is faster then we see or know of, so DM and Kmet gets to break some solos.

So you're saying Kmet couldn't outperform the line of corpses we trotted out at tight end last year? If you're going to criticize a position and pick, at least apply the same logic consistently.

Also, you left out Bars who was a mid round prospect before he got hurt. In year 2, he's a better option than a rookie who gets no reps in a virtual offseason.

Why they signed Graham but you hated that as well. Graham can be cut next year with a $3m hit.

Bars is a UDFA who has literally never played a snap at the professional level. If you want to hedge your bets on that be my guest. Better you than me. And no, I’m saying if Kmet doesn’t out perform the players picked around him it’s just another dumb pick by Pace. Playing the long game in a closing window is stupid.
