woah, 100k seats!?! Climate controlled. Retractable roof, Great Food, Stadium wifi, lines of luxury Skyboxes! Just miles away is Woodfield mall and all the eatery establishments along that whole mini metropolis area of Arlington Heights/Schaumburg. And I can get to the stadium by Metra too which basically stops at their front porch?!? WTF BATMAN!!! GO ALL IN!

ok but who the fuck is gon pay for it?

same stumbling block with the stadium in chicago

People say that, but rarely is it actually a stumbling block. Most of the time it is just something people bitch about.

Its an absolutely fucking massive lot. They could build 3 stadiums and a fucking hotel + casino on it if they wanted to. Thats why people who tell me the bears aren't serious are freakin crazy.

what?

can I have a billion dollars then?

Not what I mean.

What I mean is, the cost will be shifted to the taxpayers. And people will pound their fists and bitch, but won't likely actually do anything about it.

The only way this could be closer to or in the City is if they reclaimed a Forrest preserve/ golf course etc and that's not happening. None would have this access either.

Wait hold up... nearly 1/4 of that is a hospital. That lower left corner (unless that's vacant too).

Its not happening in the current political climate in this state . Building a stadium for millionaires in a wealthy suburb is is just not gonna fly in the current political climate .

everythiny in color is part of the lot. You are correct, the lower left is not part of the lot.

still, soldier field doesn’t even take up half of the current Arlington park, and that doesn’t account for the rest of the lot

Actually, the large gray areas are parking that is also part of the parcel. Much bigger that just the colored area.
This is the plot.

They are attempting to sell 326 acres. Soldier field and the south lot occupy less than 20 acres. You can do the math.

If the Bears promised to occupy 100 acres leaving 226 acres for future increased value development, the should, as suggested,be able to secure the land for nothing.

Lightfoot and the city officials are stupid if they let the Bears leave the downtown area. A smart business minded Mayor would give up the entire f'ing museum campus area over there to accomadate a state-of-the-art facility and all its glory. Who the hell goes to the museum these days anyway. How much revenue does that bring in? Move that shit to the west loop or something. City could capitalize on Super Bowls, Final Fours, hotels. But the city is still living in the past. The future of tourism is accesibilty to millenials. Video boards, displays, events, etc. Times Square type look. Not old architecutre and museum sightseeing. These kids dont care about that stuff anymore.

Excuse the typos, driving...
