He absolutely deserves to be in the HOF.
What he did in 8 years - 19 return TDs is pretty ridiculous.
2nd most is Brian Mitchell with 14, and he had a 13 year career.

In terms of most return TDs in a season, he's #1 and #2 all-time.

Plus, the dude was just so much fun to watch. He was electrifying as a returner, and even had multiple TDs in a single game more than once. He caused teams to alter their special teams play. He excelled in a difficult position, and made it look easy as he dodged 11 guys until he found a crease and blew right past them.

Devin Hester, you are ridiculous!

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bears
Not only did he shatter the ceiling at the position, but then he opened the super bowl with yet another return on the biggest stage there is. If he doesn't make it in, the HOF is a pointless joke.

you know how much of an impact Hester had on the game?

the NFL went to lengths to completely destroy what he did with changing the rules to make it near impossible to do what he did, and he still was doing it.

the opening kickoff of the Super Bowl, he scored, nobody's ever done that. it's not his fault Lovie Smith was offense inept and Ron Turner stopped running the ball when the inferior runner got a phantom owie on his knee (and fumbled the ball away).
The NFL changed those rules because they have a massive concussion lawsuit in the works and almost all special teams are high risk plays. In short, the NFL had to show they were doing their part to minimize high concussion activities.

Hester was awesome, but there's no conspiracy here. This isn't like when the NBA made catching an ally op against the rules because Wilt was so dominant.

You could say that his overwhelming success in part led to the rule changes to eliminate the excitement he brought to the return game (which they say was more dangerous). I've yet to see any actual proof of that, but it's a diff. topic.
Dude crushed it so much, they had to put a stop to him with rule changes.
NFL = No Fun League

Yeah, there it is.
Sadly, you're right. Had they won the SB, he'd get more credit.
Ironically, he won them several games they would've otherwise lost. Def. can say the same for all those defensive scores. AZ game alone was historic with all those non-offensive points in the comeback.

Only team in NFL history to overcome a 20 point deficit without scoring an offensive touchdown.

I like Tillman as the 2nd HOF player from that Super Bowl team more than Briggs or Hester. Special Team players have had a tough time getting into the Hall. I think Hester might get in much later. Don't think any are 1st ballot but Urlacher. Hoping for Tillman next year. Briggs is under rated due to playing the easier position in the Cover 2. Lots of guys have looked great at that spot but Briggs did it for a long time.

If Devin Hester gets in, it would be interesting to hear how salty Brian Mitchell would be.
