For me it’s nothing more than instinct. I don’t believe he had a real hand in hiring Fox. Mitch was a miss and Nagy has been a disaster. But I feel they will give him a chance to hire a HC and a chance to see if Fields is the guy.

The pressure ;deservedly so) will be too high to keep Nagy.

Right or wrong, I think Pace is well liked by ownership and isn’t going anywhere.

Thats the big thing, if Teddy decides he wants to retire the family loves Pace and he's 100% qualified to do the job.

Promoting pace would actually be good for this franchise. I think he'd make a great president. Hire a new GM and give ryan a bit of say in late round decisions and FA acquisitions.

Damn, didn't catch that gem. Thanks.

already bringing up bust for fields after 6 quarters of football. Gold.
Nope.

Saying the appearance of a possible miss on Fields if he doesn't look better by the end of the year could factor in to Pace getting fired.

Fields balling out could save his job.

I am not saying Fields is a bust after one game - nice try.

Nagy will be fired, Pace will hold on to his position. This team will remain a joke until the old bag sells it.

The numbers suggest he will be a "bust"

Approx 50% of 1st round qbs don't live up to draft status

Approx 0% of bears qb don't live up to mediocrity status

Approx 75% chance Fields is a bust

Nagy is done at the end of the year - the media pressure will be immense because many of the talking heads trashed Dalton and said it was total incompetence to NOT start Fields - how dumb is that take now...they are going to be embarrassed and take it out on Nagy (ends justifies the means for Bears fans).

I don't buy Pace getting kicked upstairs - he hired Nagy. If Fields doesn't do what WE ALL THOUGHT - hit the ground running - Pace looks like he whiffed on Mitch and Fields.

Pace could get fired. Look at that o-line giving up 9 sacks today.

It wasn't 9 sacks. It was just the QB getting tackled behind the LOS 9 times
