I meant ready for Will in which case Morrow can stay at Mike and Klein can play SAM.
Alright, I think they will want to try Morrow at Will to see about putting him there next year. I think he's better suited to that than Mike.

Agreed. Williams said as much.

“(Morrow) did play that spot in his last spot at Las Vegas, so he’s familiar with at it,” Williams said. “We also looked a little bit with Sanborn at that spot. We’re switching those guys around, seeing who we like there. Looks like Nic may be there, but we’ll wait and see on Sunday who has the best reps, who has the most reps and who does the best at that spot.”

What about that Weatherford guy? Will we see him on the field?

Book it!!!We will fill the WLB next year when we Draft Trenton Simpson with our second. Hes a perfect fit for this scheme.

I would 100% prefer a dominant 3T or EDGE to a dominant WR, especially with no plus starters on the DL currently and two good young WRs. But there are resources to have it all if everything turns out and Poles is wise.

Definitely a better chance to fix the lines than get a stud WR in free agency.
Fix both OL & DL plus LB now before WR, we will be much better with Clay & Harry

I really wish Poles had taken a late round flyer on Damone Clark in the last draft class. I thought he stepped in for Anthony Barr and played very well.

I believe that Clark would have made a fine replacement at the WILL LB position.

This up and coming draft Trenton Simpson is a LB that I REALLY want the Bears to take a flyer on. Clemson lines up Simpson at every LB position on the field as an EDGE/ILB/PLUG while also getting reps as a SAFETY SURROGATE.

Simpson is exactly the type of defender that I want to see right in the middle at the MIKE LB that will require the MIKE to have that do it all ability from playing downhill/stuffing the run/spying the QB and most importantly to this system by having the ability and understanding of playing as a coverage MIKE LB.

I hope the Bears draft Simpson. If they get him early then fine, and if they're able to draft him later than even better.

Also really want to see what Pringle can do. Really thought he could be a sneaky good pickup last offseason. Injuries have held him back this year so hope he can stay healthy the rest of the season.

In a 4-3 they are all off the ball LBs because they do not pass rush the majority of the time. That is contrasted with OLBs in a 3-4 whose primary responsibility is to rush the passer so they are considered edge players along with 4-3 DEs. By contrast 3-4 DEs are considered Interior Defensive Lineman as they are typically blocked by a guard since the Tackles have to block the pass rusher 3-4 OLBs.
Then in this case my point was correct and I did indeed see Morrow in Smith's area at times.

At any rate I think he (Morrow) should be good at Will, or at least they should try him there.

Hargrave, Payne, Conklin and Jenkins should be the targets. That would open up the draft to really go BPA within reason.
Could also find a veteran CB on the cheap and then draft a CB to develop.

We can find competition, not sure they can beat out Sanborn.

Simpson is a top 15 prospect. No chance he drops to the END of the 2nd where the Bears pick.

Don't get it twisted, he's a beast. The perfect fit for this defense, IMO. I'd be happy with that pick if the Bears trade back and are able to add picks as well. Would probably have to finish top 5 and trade down to 15 or so, and pick up an extra 2nd for me to be happy about taking a LB in round 1 though. Doesn't sound like Eberflus is big on taking LB in round 1 based on his comments about Roquan.

They have enough money to easily sign 4 top level FA on DL/OL combined, and have plenty left over to fill other holes. Obviously that supposes such players will be available and want to sign with Chicago, but I think draft targets will emerge more clearly after free agency.
I really think this is the key. Poles has the luxury of getting a top FA G and a top FA RT. In addition, he can get the top 3-tech and Agap/NT. After these 4, I really believe he can get a pass rushing DE. He may go with a Mug/offball SLB that’s a pass rushing specialist. So, if he fills in those 5 gaps with top tier FA, I’m thinking he focuses on premium positions in the draft — a top DE, DT, and then T & WR, in that order of preference.

I like the LB from Syracuse, but I think they’re going to want size more. I wouldn’t be surprised if they focus on drafting a big safety with a nose for the ball that can hit and converting him, like Urlacher and that kid we got from the Colts.

Dont draft off ball LBs in the first. Too easy to find them elsewhere and if you arent going to pay then 20m a year then they wont get a 2nd contract.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Blackhawks

At this point, I'd rather have them focus on a good Tight end as a priority before a wide receiver.

I think the opposite here. I believe they traded away Roquan with a full intention of replacing him early on in the draft.

I thought.and hoped that they would have at least taken one LB in the last draft since there was a nice crop of off the ball LBs in the last class from all of the C19 holdovers.

The Bears need 2 standout talents at the MIKE & WILL LB positions
It's a must have for a system that will demand two primary LBs that can hold down the HOOKS of a Base Cover 3, other Cover 3 variants, as well as either being able to hold down the ROBBER in the Cover 1.

I know alot of people will argue the need for a 3 technique and their argument would be valid. However since the last time the Bears ran a similar defensive philosophy under Lovie Smith alot has changed around the draft stock of the 3 TECH position.

Most of the Defenses in this league are seeking 2, 4 & 5 TECH DEs to pair with a NT/SHADE DT. The traditional 3 TECH the the Bears need can be had at a high value at the end of round 2 and even later.

This defense has to have real standout at the MIKE/WILL LB and 3TECH positions. Or there's zero point in running it to begin with.

I would follow Ron Riveras blueprint to a TEE for this system, when he rebuilt the Panthers defense.

I strongly believe 2 of the Bears first 5 picks will get spent on LBs
