I don't disagree.. But that's also the fun part about debating sports and things in it that can go either way.

Yes, he got injured mid-season last year and missed a few weeks.... But when he came back, his performance pre and post injury was almost exactly the same, until he decided to call it a season after the Lakers were obviously not going to make the post-season. I said, in a vacuum, I think Kawhi...

That isn't even a good argument haha. Who the NBA thought? You mean sportswriters/media members? They're the ones who decide these things, and the process has always been looked at as flawed and/or biased. Last year, would you have said Paul George was a better player than LBJ because he was...

I know they will, just saying I wouldn't. I'd rather invest in younger talent than paying one 30-40 million and will be depreciating in value quickly.

    Using the Advanced stats you pointed to earlier: Offensive Win-Shares: 18-19: 4.7 (ranked 29th) 19-20: 6.2 (ranked 8th) Defensive Win-Shares: 18-19: 2.6 (ranked 61st) 19-20: 3.6 (ranked 10th) Win-Shares: 18-19: 7.2 (ranked 36th) 19-20: 9.8 (ranked 7th) Value Over Replacement Player 18-19...

Personally, if I were the Lakers, I wouldn't bring back LBJ if/when he opts out. Paying a 37-year old probably 30+ million is never a good idea. I get this idea that LBJ will be taking 1-year deals so he can play with his son in a couple of years.

That's why I said in a vacuum. LBJ benefits from playing next to AD. When you play next to a talent like that, your advanced stats will automatically look better. Case in point? Last year, LBJ wasn't even in the top 20 for some of these advanced stats, and in the other ones, he improved in all...

I diagree. Kawhi is arguably the best two-way player in the NBA right now. Again, in a vacuum, currently Kawahi is a better defender, better shooter, and overall matches LBJ's production on offense, minus passing the ball. But that's all LBJ does better at.. passing the ball. LBJ is just...

    2020 Bubble NBA Playoffs

If they play their cards right, their cap situation will be great. Nearly everyone on their roster currently will have their contract expire at the end of next season, opening up the door for the Lakers to possibly be able to bring in 2 max players. PG also has a player option... If the...

At this point in their careers, Kawahi is definitely the better defender between the two (LBJ). Offensively, he's also a better shooter, and LBJ is a better passer. In a vacuum, I don't think it's a stretch to say Kawhi is better than LBJ right now. Historically, obviously LBJ is better.

Lakers? LBJ has a player option as well. I can see them both opting out and working something out to be together.

If they don't win it next year, Kawhi will likely leave (player option in the 3rd year), and I wouldn't be surprised if they cut ties with Doc then.

They won't make a change. Doc is a big reason why Kawhi signed with them.

Yeah, that's where I'd put my money. Not only did they avoid facing their toughest competition in the West, they're going to avoid facing the toughest competition in the East. It'd be a miracle if they didn't win it all. But with all these upsets, who knows?

    2020 Bubble NBA Playoffs

I just don't think Denver matches up well with LA. LAC has Kawhi, who can definitely neutralize LBJ, and George is a good enough wing defender to stop anyone else on LAL. Or they could take turns on LBJ to give each other extra juice on offense. The Nuggets have no one to really slow LBJ, nor...

    2020 Bubble NBA Playoffs

I honestly can't see Denver winning more than 2 against the Lakers. I didn't see them beating the Clippers either, so what do I know... but Denver was down 1-3 in both series before they stormed back. The Lakers started 0-1 in both of their series, and then won 4 straight. The Lakers won't let...
