Alshon Jeffery to Chicago Bears Highlights & Stats

Letting other's fight your battles for you. I see. George also went 4-12 that season. Yep, that's a great season. He was 8-2 as a starter with Minnesota. And he almost put up And his QB rating was higher in Minnesota. Might want to check that stat sheet a little harder.

Alshon Jeffery to Chicago Bears Highlights & Stats

Ah, good one. I was trying to think of all the huge WR combo's and I knew there was some out there I couldn't remember. That would count. Herman Moore was awesome. A couple other great combo's that come to mind- Montana - Rice - Taylor - (and Roger Craig and Tom Rathman, yikes!) Warren...

Alshon Jeffery to Chicago Bears Highlights & Stats

There have been great WR/QB combos, and that's one of them. But there hasn't been one with the kind of size and power that Jeffery and Marshall will bring. Both of those guys are monsters and Jeffery has unbelievable hands and body control. Throw in 6'7 Kellen Davis, and we basically have a...

Glad that's funny to you. Can you name anything similar to that?

Alshon Jeffery to Chicago Bears Highlights & Stats

Me too. I've wanted him here for 2 years! LOL I figured we'd have no chance at him because I wanted him so bad. I can't believe it came true. Cutler, Marshall and Jeffery are going to be like nothing the NFL has ever seen!

Does Lovie have more draft pull than anyone realized?

Not sure if that's being sarcastic or not. But that one sentence you typed about Lovie getting one free pick is not the same as what I said in the original post.

Does Lovie have more draft pull than anyone realized?

 You can find good interior OL prospects in rounds 3 and 4. A lot of starters come out of there, sometimes rookie starters. And every position on our OL can stand to be upgraded. Even Carimi is still a question mark as he only played 1 game. Just another draft without any OL taken.

Does Lovie have more draft pull than anyone realized?

I hope you're right. But that was still a JA style draft and JA is gone now. Hope springs eternal with a new GM so maybe those players will turn out to be good. We'll see how it plays out.

Does Lovie have more draft pull than anyone realized?

Exactly. And that exposes the problem that I see. Look at the drafts over the years. Look at HOW MANY defensive backs and defensive line has been taken IN EACH DRAFT. And we still have a god awful secondary!! And D-line is still a huge need!! Without Peppers our D-line is pathetic, and we...

No. What are you talking about?

Does Lovie have more draft pull than anyone realized?

All head coaches have SOME pull. I'm saying Lovie has more pull than anyone realized. This is the same type of draft we saw when JA was the GM.

Does Lovie have more draft pull than anyone realized?

True. They also need better players on the O-line. They took 3 DB's and zero OL. Again. I think they've gone 4 drafts now since Lovie has been here without taking a single offensive lineman. Yet they take multiple DB's seemingly every year. And they still need DB help? How is that possible?

Does Lovie have more draft pull than anyone realized?

Sorry make that 3 DB's. I didn't see the 7th round pick when I wrote that.

Does Lovie have more draft pull than anyone realized?

Another draft, a first round DE, and 2 DB's taken. No Offensive Line taken. Again. JA left but this was still the same style of draft. DB's and DL. Since Lovie has been coach they have drafted a safety EVERY SINGLE YEAR. So how much pull does Lovie actually have back there? I think a...

Bears Draft Evan Rodriguez, TE from Temple

He was also drafted in the 4th because of character concerns I think. But I'd bet if teams could go back and draft again knowing he'd turn out as good as he did, they'd draft him before the 4th. So if they really think Rodriguez is as good as Hernandez, I'd think he'd have been drafted earlier.

Bears Draft Evan Rodriguez, TE from Temple

Easy...I was just making a joke... Nothing against you. But Hernandez is a really good player. If he was perceived to really be as good as Hernandez is in the NFL, I think he would have been drafted higher. That's all.

Bears Draft Evan Rodriguez, TE from Temple

Because their last names both end with "ez"?

    Ignoring the O-Line

The message from the Bears brass about the O-line is "it was the system, not the players" as to why they sucked. That's a convenient excuse now that Martz is gone. But it's just more propaganda. Unless Lovie really believes that, which is entirely possible. There are 2 problems with this...

Bears Draft Brandon Hardin from Oregon State - Breakdown/Stats/etc.

That would be pretty hilarious, since the last time him and Alshon Jeffery saw each other they fought and got kicked out of the bowl game (after Jeffery abused him for 4 catches, 148 yards, and a TD in one half)
