It's kind of hard to break it to a player that he's only worth $2 million though... You either: a) offer $2 million, and tell him it's non-negotiable or b) start at say $1 million, and negotiate from there, where might sound even more offensive because you're implying he might only be worth...

Trestman's team is a powerhouse in the CFL. Not that that means too much considering there's only 8 teams, but they've been consistently in the top 2-3 teams in the league. I do recall that he was personally mentored by Marv Levy at one point.
