  1. Caleb already had dinner with future teammates

It makes sense why DJ, Cole, and Tevan were all in town for the Cubs opener on Monday. Hopefully, DJ wasn't too much of a sour puss during the dinner :cautious:
  2. Report: Bears had chance to trade Fields to team he would start for. Poles left offer on table for better pick Saturday 😡

What bothers me the most is that Poles did Khan a favor by taking less after this MF fleeced them in the Claypool deal
  3. OT: Mac Jones to the Jaguars for a 6th round pick

Damn, was hoping that nut-kicking freak would be relegated to the UFL. Jags are the perfect spot for him
  4. Quarterback rankings, adjusted for things that aren't their fault.

Is this like BABIP for football but bad? The formula is pretty useless if you come away with Brock Purdy as the only QB who benefited from luck factors with a negative differential.
  5. Jaxon Smith-Njigba on new Bears OC Shane Waldron

This reaction is trash. If he has a legitimate gripe about Waldron, let's hear it. JSN had a decent year but it would've been even better if he didn't finish top 5 in drops. How about holding yourself accountable?
  6. New QB and QB Support Metric

    Back to the lab, friendo:
  7. Just Follow the Money

I think his tolerance for risk is quite high, as evidenced by the Claypool and Sweat trades. He doesn't strike me as a guy who is afraid to take that big swing.
  8. Multiple Firsts from Washington??

I wouldn't worry about it. It's not like Kingsbury is Lincoln Riley. He coached CW for one season when he experienced a regression in his passing numbers. Do you think he wants to learn a big-boy offense or stay with the gimmicky air raid that nobody else in the NFL is running full-time?
  9. Multiple Firsts from Washington??

Reminiscent of 2020 draft. CIN turned down an offer of 3 firsts from MIA, who also held the 5th pick overall in that draft. CIN didn't take their offer seriously and ran their card in for Burrow. Remember that this draft also had two other elite prospects in Tua and Herbert, but CIN wouldn't...
  10. Cowherd - Caleb doesn't want to come here

It's pretty funny how this is presented by Cowherd. WAS is one of the most dysfunctional franchises in the NFL. They just botched this HC cycle and whiffed on all their top choices. What star QBs have they developed? The one guy who appeared to be headed down that path - RG3 - was completely...
  11. Former Jets scout calls Caleb Williams the most mentally weak prospect he's ever seen - says he's closer to Johnny Manziel than Patrick Mahomes

This guy's criticism of CW reminds me of the scene from Moneyball where the Oakland scouts are gathered at a table and dismissing a player because his wife is ugly.
  12. Daniel Jeremiah top 50.

What kind of former NFL scout doesn't take the fingernail painting issue seriously? Shouldn't that knock him out of the top 5?
  13. Lest We Forget - Caleb Versus Fields Years 1, 2 & 3 Highlights

Pocket awareness is what limits Fields' ceiling IMO. He just doesn't sense pressure in the pocket very well, even when it's non-blindside. It wasn't in the video, but I would be curious to see how CW is during 2-minute drills. Surely he is better than Fields in this area.
  14. How would you feel about Kiff Kingsbury being hired as the Offensive Coordinator?

If CW is the guy, copy what the Chiefs have done with Mahomes - WCO with elements of Air Raid sprinkled in. I don't like the idea of running Air Raid system exclusively.
  15. Offensive Coordinator Search Candidates - OFFICAIL THREAD

Excellent. Optimism abounds as long as they avoid hiring from the rotten, leafless LaFleur tree.
  16. The San Francisco 49ers are exactly what most of you want

Why not have both - excellent all-around roster plus top 3 QB talent in CW. It's rare, but the Bears are in a unique position to pull it off while Caleb is on a rookie contract.
  17. OC search seems directed at QB's that are not fields...

Not necessarily. Poles/Flus are emphasizing adaptability with the new OC. Be it a dual-threat like Fields or a pure pocket passer like Peyton Manning, they should be able to put together a playbook tailored to the player's strengths.
  18. Caleb's still not declared - has until 1/15

Stroud declared on 1/16 last year, on the very last day. There is too much on the line for CW not to declare this year. He's virtually a lock to go 1OVA. If he returns next year and his play continues to decline, his draft stock will plummet.
  19. Pete Carroll OUT as Seattle coach

There are so many HC openings this year. The bears are really going to have a tough time hiring an experienced OC with their lame-duck coach. Lovie part deux. Time is a flat circle.
  20. The deafening silence coming out of Halas Hall

Unlike the QB decision, this decision is low-hanging fruit, especially if both coordinators are being replaced. Where would Eberflus rank among the coaches available in this cycle? Next to last after Rivera? Get him out of here! Jim Harbaugh Mike Vrabel Belichick Ben Johnson Dan Quinn Eric...
