  1. 5 most likely options for the Bears at No. 9, plus expected trade partners 👀

Olu at #9 would be lame imo. You trade down in that scenario every time. Mims is the crazy high upside play at OT anyway.
  2. Draft thoughts from The Athletic’s Robert Mays

Yeah i mean top 3, top 5. Whatever. My point is he's a rare talent.
  3. Murphy now favorite at #9

I know. But talent matters too. And I don't think Murphy is thought of as an elite talent given his size limitations.
  4. Murphy now favorite at #9

I'm fine with that. But go use #9 elsewhere then.
  5. Draft thoughts from The Athletic’s Robert Mays

He does. But I'd rather the receiver just be wide open than contested.
  6. Murphy now favorite at #9

What would hurt about drafting Murphy is that we'd all inevitably think about having Jalen Carter + one of the OTs from this year instead of Murphy/Wright. And yeah, that's not a great comparison from a talent standpoint.
  7. Draft thoughts from The Athletic’s Robert Mays

If they had equal separation abilities, I would agree. But they don't. It does matter of course, and you have to do your homework. But from an on-the-field perspective, Nabers is probably a top 3 WR prospect of the last 10 years (with Chase and MHJ).
  8. Draft thoughts from The Athletic’s Robert Mays

Nabers tape is crazy. Crazy explosive. Plays tough. Smaller than Odunze, but he's not one of those small speedsters. A couple plays where a safety is manning him up, and it's like they aren't even there at all with the amount of separation he gets.
  9. Draft thoughts from The Athletic’s Robert Mays

Drafting Alt is about the next decade not about next season. I do hope one of the WRs is on the board though. Nabers would be crazy to land at 9.
  10. 2024 NFL Draft discussion

Debatable how much impact an OT will have in year 1. It just seems like WR talent has become scary expensive, so if a Nabers or Odunze is at 9 it is tough to pass on that.
  11. How does trading back help the Bears in a shallow draft?

It absolutely should be. What are you talking about? We're trying to build a long term winner here.
  12. How does trading back help the Bears in a shallow draft?

I mean you don't trade that far back for a 3rd/4th rounder. We trade back if someone is willing to pay a premium price. We once traded 1.20 + a 5th + future 1st + future 4th for 1.11. Go find someone willing to pay big for 1.9.
  13. 2024 NFL Draft discussion

If Maye drops, we should be aiming for 2 1sts. Basically what we had to give up to trade up for Fields.
  14. 2024 NFL Draft discussion

DE2 is a glaring need. But we're not fixing the pass rush in one offseason. So don't force it due to "need" if there's a great trade down available or an elite WR prospect.
  15. At pick 9

Ideal scenario to me is McCarthy or Daniels gets to #9, and we trade down and pick up a future 1st.
  16. ESPN Insider Trade Grade: Bears D+

Then wait until you do have leverage. When some other team suffers an injury.
  17. ESPN Insider Trade Grade: Bears D+

The "not fair to Fields" stuff is lol embarrassing Poles flubbed this big time.
  18. Glazer: Bears acquire WR Allen

The offense we're building only makes sense for one of the possible QBs
  19. Craig Carton: Fields to play WR

They've given him way more opportunity than his play warrants. I think the Taysom Hill plan has some merit if the trade return is just awful. And if the trade return is awful, it's then clear that nobody respects Fields the QB anyway.
