    2 things that are most likely true with this signing: 1. Rypien is your "bridge" QB until Williams steps in (or backup if Williams starts immediately) 2. Fields is about to get traded No way they sign this guy if there's even a hint of keeping Fields and drafting Williams.

    The Vikings signing Darnold makes their plans going forward obvious. They're going to use him as a bridge QB until the guy they pick (most likely McCarthy after moving up a handful of spots from 11 or waiting and he falls to them) is ready.

    Well of course I am and of course it does, in the WR corps anyway. But it will strengthen them everywhere else. They now have 25 million in cap room available and 3 picks in the Top 50 to take some of the sting away.

    Just the way the Chiefs like it. Proclaim them dead before the season even starts. I can't even count how many times people said "the Patriots lost too many people" or "they don't have anyone for Brady to throw to", and they still got it done, year after year after year.
