I think Detmers was clearly the target, but Crochet has all the tools. Highest spin rate in college and a big guy.

The comps I’ve read are Sale and Andrew Miller.

Yes, please.

One of the guys mentioned Miller after they did the Sale comparison. I love the idea of seeing him back to back with Kopech some day.

They also discussed that his stuff is good enough that he could be in the bullpen (like early Sale) late this season.

Cubs get Ed Howard. Best SS in draft...

I really don't do any research about the MLB draft, but going in I would've taken a outfielder who can actually the play the outfield or another pitcher. Never gonna complain about more pitchers. Dude throws gas too as he hit 100 this Spring.

I've seen the same comparisons mentioned here plus Mad Bum.

HS RHP in the second Jared Kelley, who looks like he fell. Best stuff of HS pitchers.

Dude evidently had 23 no hitters and a 0.43 era in his high school career. I have been in Refugio a few times, in the middle of nowhere southeast Texas, and it's unlikely he played against many good players. But still, ridiculous. If he signs it will be awesome news.

I saw some mocks in which he went top 20. I read an article that suggested the Sox should consider at him at 11. I really like adding these young arms.

Meet White Sox 2nd-rounder Jared Kelley

The third and fourth round picks are overdrafted, meaning that they intend to use a lot of their $ to sign the first two guys imo.

Those two are really good prospects.

I read post 15 after I posted and understand a little better the strategy here. MLB has a strange format for the draft and signing picks compared to nfl and nba

Yeah it's weird shit, mostly because of the guys taken out of high school and they don't have to declare for the draft. They can get drafted and still go to college and then get drafted again.
