I was pretty happy too. Part of me wondered if he was overrated for having Durant/Westbrook and then Chris Paul….but after watching this team for the past two seasons the answer is clear. He’s a middle of the pack average coach. I’ve said as much months ago.

It’s not Donovan. For as much as the Bulls mortgaged the future acquiring Vuc and DeRozan neither are superstars. This is a superstar driven league and only a few teams have them. They will give Lavine a max contract and be stuck in mediocrity for the next 3 years.

I’m less than convinced that Zach is a super max type player. The knee is also concerning even though he’s been able to play through it, he’ll likely need surgery of some sort in the off-season. Considering lonzo’s knee issue as well, it’s obviously not good having a ton of money tied on two players with knee issues.
That said, the bulls can’t really afford to let him walk either. They could maybe pull a sign and trade if someone like Jokic became available, but that’s unlikely.

Bulls with TWO all stars somehow is the worst team in the league...now. Vuc is garbage. He doesn't scare me one iota if he goes to another team. If this was Boylen coaching everyone would be screaming to fire him. Looks like Donovan is starting to get some heat though....and rightly so. He's a likeable guy and easy to listen to....but dear Lord...this team is unmotivated...lazy and demoralized....all things that fall on the coach. Players aren't blameless by any means....but this is a bad look for Billy.
