So do we think coby getting back in game shape is going to fix him being awful at defense which he has always been?
No, probably not. But if he were more consistent at scoring, while maybe being near average at defense, it could be a plus.

Obviously not new lol but the Bulls have been struggling with it and need to tighten up. Part of it is Vuc being super slow but I’ve seen a lot of confusion on rotations and assignments as well
Yeah confusion on rotations is definitely a thing. There was one play I recall where Zach was getting screened and he basically screamed at Derozan to switch and Derozan did not switch which led to a wide open 3 for Rozier. Some of that will improve with time and some of it is just on the players.

It seems like this Bulls team's defense is dependent on switching most screens when there's a small lineup and trying to cause passing turnovers. I will give Vuc some credit as he affected a lot of shots last night, but Charlotte is also a small team. There's not a ton of great individual defenders outside of Caurso and Ball, most are just ok, so we're going to have to see if the team can keep up mentally with the rotations and switches that happen.

As it stands there's just limitations to what I expect from this team defensively, and for the most part I actually find them to be a pretty solid team on that front. Definitely with apparent weaknesses, but for what they are they are doing pretty well I think.

It does appear to me that Ayo has a higher ceiling than Coby. Hell his floor might be higher too. I never did like Coby much, we drafted him to be a point guard but that looks like it was a square peg in a round hole situation. I don't think there's a ton of value in having an undersized pure scoring guard on the roster either. Caruso looks like a much better backup PG to me coming off the bench and we have plenty of scoring already with our staggered lineups. Hopefully they're just playing Coby to get his trade value up because I'd rather develop Ayo.

Coby's arms are short and it bothers me.

Coby kinda reminds me of Nate Robinson and I think that's his ceiling. Except Nate was more athletic and had a lot more hops to him.

I'd be fine with coby being a 3rd string guy they bring in on nights they need a scoring punch if their roster was complete. That's not the case though

Yeah I miss Nate Rob. He was the epitome of the spark plug off the bench archetype. But it wasn't just his scoring, he had the intangibles that hyped the crowd up and motivated his team mates.

Sooo basically if he was a completely different player than he is lol

this isn’t a new trend. He’s been on the bulls 2+ years now and it’s been the same story with no improvement anywhere really

now, we’ve hung on to him long enough to the point where the bulls might not get much for him anymore. At one time there was probably a few GM’s that could of been swindled…hopefully there’s still 1 or 2 left

Thibs sat down for two minutes. He's back up again. Knicks are like a poverty Bulls team from 2011

Ayo playing well. I don’t know how anyone can watch him and coby play, and come away thinking coby is the better player

bulls up 37-19 after the 1st quarter
