How has Houston got away with sitting John Wall? I thought maybe it was a mutual agreement but apparently not as Wall is speaking up about it on twitter.

Is he? Aren't they just sitting him to tank? I'm sure he'd want to play but no one is gonna trade for that contract

I love how you highlighted only the sections of defensive rating that supposedly help make your case. You highlighted the 20% of the formula that is based around defensive rebounds, blocked shots, and steals. This somehow represents "stops". However, these are the only stats in a basketball box score that can be used hence are why they are the only ones appropriated into this formula for defensive rating. Guess what, 80% of the formula for individual defensive rating is based around team defensive performance. Just as I claimed.

I love how you post Boozer's numbers for DefRTG and they just so happen to vary wildly by year. Hollinger said himself that big men with big rebounding numbers will have a more skewed defensive rating in their favor than their smaller positioned teammates. Utah was barely above average at best defensively and horrible at worst (you claim that he only played on above average to elite defensive teams before he got to Chicago). Cleveland was a horrible defensive team and Boozer was gobbling up plenty of defensive rebounds to help inflate his defensive rating to a seemingly mediocre level.

However, to one that actually understands how these formulas are put together, and watches the game of basketball, you can clearly see that Boozer is a bad defensive player. The metric that you speak of in regard to his days in Chicago happened to be higher because, shocker, the Bulls had a very good defensive team around him. And if he happened to be Serge Ibaka, I guarantee the Bulls would have been way further ahead of the pack defensively. Just because you are ranked as the number one overall team defensively for two straight seasons doesn't necessarily mean that you were playing to your team's defensive potential.

Houston should do the right thing and buy him out then if they refuse to play him

He RT'd someone who said he was being punished for something he can't control. I guess that could mean not being bought out or traded. Plus i'm still a little bitter that the NBA jumped down our throats about sitting healthy players a few years ago.

Ah yeah I mean he's not forced his way out of Houston so he's kind of at the mercy of their FO. Even if you make a stink there's no guarantee that you get out, just look at Ben Simmons

Missing a lot of the same shots they missed the other night, but you can see the offense coming a lot easier with Vuc

Nor should you be…and yet, after the 1st quarter they are up 2

If they decide to wake up and play hard, they will win by 15+
