Next off-season is looking good to re-up some current Bears and bring in some proven talent:

IF Bears put up a half-decent showing with cheap position-fillers, higher tier FAs might want to come to CHI vs. having to overspend like perennial losing orgs ie: JAX, NYJ, DET, etc.

Good thing the cap is going to be right around 230 million in 2023. The 208 million cap of this year was a ridiculous cap number.

Also glad the Packers have the best cap guy in the business in Russ Ball. You never hear the Packers or their fans complaining that they are at "disadvantage" to other teams because of tough cap situations.

Some fans will even cry "disadvantage" when their team has a very good cap situation this year and next. The Bears have 22 mill in cap space right now and at least one fan here has cried foul.

Too funny.

Davante didn't leave because of the cap or money. Davante wanted to play for his fav team since childhood and closer to home. The Packers could have paid Davante more than the Raiders and offered him that. Try to keep up.

So no, the Packers nor there fans are crying "disadvantage" like Bears fans.

Do you honestly believe that’s the only reason Devante left?

I have plenty of Packers fan friends and they were all extremely disappointed and sad that he is gone.

You’re right, it wasn’t only about the money. He also wanted to get away from your arrogant dick of a QB…

This is a rather cute way to cope for some hard truths about your football team.

It's not even so much the fact that they can only account for 2 SB wins during the span of HOF QB play but a deeper look on how they actually got there is what should be unacceptable by anyone standards.

Since 2008 no team in the NFC has held the no.1 seed more (3)

The Packers now go down as the team with the most regular-season wins in a 3-year span (39) without a Super Bowl appearance.

Then there's the one and dones.

It's one thing to not win the SB or even getting bounced by a relatively evenly matched team in the conference championship game. But for a team that is generally a perpetual solid favorite come playoff time they simply don't deliver the goods.

Problem is, they play in the north against the Bears, Lions and Viks.. Def makes them look better than they really are. Reality usual comes for them in the playoffs though.

It really is fun watching the Packers get outplayed and out coached during the playoffs.

  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
By season start. Falcons will head the OPs low salary situation, likely followed by the Bears. OP only needed to look at dead money to know this wasn't representative of a 'by far' situation. Not just that, Atlanta will try and trade Deion Jones after 6-1 and assume another $8m in dead money both this and next year. I doubt they cut him if they can't trade the injured player as besides $16m in bonus, I believe his $9.6m salary is guaranteed. They have $20m in 2022 cap space devoted to a player that is dinged and wasn't very good last year when healthy with Mariota and Ridder at the helm. If they cut Jones, they will have an unprecedented $78m in dead money this year and almost $69m if they manage to trade him.

We have it rough but clearly more available roster money than Atlanta plus Fields as opposed to Mariota or Ridder. We're clearly 2nd in this low roster $ situation with Atlanta being far and away the leader in bad money management.

Good thing they hired Pace.
