Will you stop posting on here if they do?
No, I will post twice as much, claiming he is better than JF. Because, just like the Bears, every new QB is the best QB evahhhhhh

Love it, but wish you'd taken a WR earlier. Don't hate those guys, but probably would have taken a WR where you took a Guard. Good to see you here, buddy. Nice mock.

This is what a smart GM would do.

I'm not so sure poles is a smart GM. Guess we will find out.

Odds are, even with a good offense-heavy draft, they probably won't be able to create a good enough offense to compensate this coming year for a crappy D I don't think.

My fear with a crappy D is that they fall behind early and often. Bears are forced into a one-dimensional offence and the opposition D pins it's ears back in a pass rush track meet. The Bears can't run their full scheme many/most games.

A good D and run game are young QB's best friends. Let him learn how to run the full offense without having to carry the whole team and the pressure to score 30 with his arm every week. In a pressure-cooker market like Chicago, take some of that off the young man. Just do your job, learn and grow, we've got your back until we get you more help and more experience - then you take over.

I still want OL and WR help. But if they also address more D than people here want or expect I can see why that helps Justin too.

Have the Bears traded with the Ravens since the Carimi debacle?

Mock makes sense. I would hope they just stay at 39 and take Moore or Watson and then hope Hall lasts til 48. If he does go between 39-48, they can still do that 2nd trade down.

I think our DEF will be solid, if not spectacaular. I think our OFF is average right now. Depending on who we draft, if there is an IMPACT OT, the OFF could get much better, quick. If ANY of the new WR acquisitions step up, that will help. A rookie WR, even if it's Olave or Pickens or Skyy, will PROBABLY not be a stud their rookie year, most aren't. There have been exceptions in the last couple of years—Jefferson, Chase, Waddle, etc.

Having a hard time understanding a trade down when a player like Watson is available at arguably the biggest position of need moving into next season.

Drafting offense with the first 3 picks won’t magically fix the offense and won’t give Fields everything he needs to succeed. I wouldn’t do that, so I guess I wouldn’t make a smart GM.

What will help Fields the most is building a good, smart and balanced football team. You don’t pass up a DT you have graded as a 1st round talent so you can settle for a WR or OL you have graded lower, but you want to pick them in case they don’t fall to the next round.

A good and sensible scheme will tell us a lot about him. I personally think he has the tools to be elite.

I think there will be WRs and O linemen available with comparable grades to the defensive players available. We will find out in nine days. If that's the case, it makes sense to address one of the worst offenses in the NFL and provide Fields with needed weapons and protection. Wouldn't it be something if the Bears could field a decent offense for a change.

No problem with that. Winfrey, Pickens and Strange would be my dream 1st 3. My overall point is you don’t go into it saying you will draft all offense, because the board never falls the way people think it will.

If the Bears draft a good player at any position (not counting specialists), it's a good pick. If they don't draft a good player it's a bad pick.

Only probably 25% of guys drafted at 39 or 48 statistically are going to be above average players. That's lower at 71. It's best to get the guy that you have the most confidence in. If they have equal confidence, go offense.

First 3 picks in the trenches. That's how you win football games.
