Some of you dudes care way too much about football. Why is Pace a pos? What did he do/say? Trade draft picks? Lol.
ONE I said POS GM....hence the job he is performing, not Ryan Pace the family man. Panties in a bunch?

It's something I've heard Hub Arkush bring up time and again, but his take is that what the fans think rarely matches what coaching circles think.

Hub has always said the Bears are considered a pretty good to at times great destination because not only are there only 32 of these jobs, coaches themselves tend to be football nerds and love the idea of coaching the charter franchise. On top of that, regardless of the rumors out there, the McCaskeys are seen as a mostly hands off ownership, which a lot of coaches favor. And in one of his most recent radio hits, he said that the Bears likely will be the premier spot over the off-season, because in league circles, Justin Fields is considered to be by miles the best QB option of all the potential job openings.

The interesting bent, and this falls into place with Ryan Pace's future, is that the Bears may be considering something of giving the head coach full power over the organization, but only if the coach and situation is right. This is a change from before where they wanted the GM in charge of football operations and the HC answers to the GM, but they are apparently more open to this idea now than they were when they hired Nagy.

To me, that's a clear nod to Josh McDaniels. I think if they land him, they allow him to run the show ala Belichick, and bring in his own GM to do his "shopping" for him.

However, if they don't decide on McDaniels, I think they keep the structure they've always had, but 50-50 whether Pace is either fired or kicked upstairs, at least per the rumors. But it doesn't seem like Pace is staying as GM. But then again, rumors are rumors for a reason....
I think you're mostly right about the Bears being an ideal landing spot for a HC gig. But I also kind of fucking hate McDaniels.

Gonna say this right now. Anyone caping for McDickle from NE needs to have their account permanently suspended. How the fuck anyone wants to go from the Nagy shitshow to the McDaniel disaster doesn't deserve to post here.

Fields throws another 5 yard out route for a gain of 3. Safe pass. HC McDicky has the Bears marching down the field......5 yards at a time.

No fucking thanks.

Says the guy calling someone a piece of shit because they trade away draft capital lol. Also, your usage of “hence” here makes no sense. And it’s draft “capital”, not “capitol”. You ought to spend more time studying the English language and less time being angry on this forum. It would undoubtedly make your arguments more coherent.

I would be ok with McDaniels and I’m going to continue posting here. McDaniels makes Nagy look like a pewee offensive OC. If McDaniels head is on right, I’d take his offensive mind any day

Then you and I are on the same page. Me thinking he lands with the Bears is more of a hunch, rather than a wish....

I said weeks ago, Chicago is easily the most attractive and they should have any pick they want.

Don't be so sure.

And to be clear, I agree with you on him being a terrible selection. I just think its the most likely to happen.
I dont . He wants Pace's job too. He want HC GM. I think that puts him out of the race unless Pace gets kicked upstairs. ell see .

You are correct in what he wants. What I feel you are wrong about is whether the McCaskeys are willing to do it. In the past I'd agree with you - but with all the smoke coming from Halas Hall, this year all bets are off.

Fields has been crap across the board... especially on quick throws.
McDaniels has Mac Jones performing leaps and bounds over every other rookie QB in the league by playing to his abilities.
McDaniels also turned Cassel in to a 10-6 fill in off the bench.

McDaniels also brought brady from a game manager first and foremost in the early days to being the oc that put up the number one 2007 passing offense in yards per attempt, yards per game, passing touchdowns, completion percentage, total yardage, and rating.
It was the very definition of a big play offense.

Seems to me that McDaniels can hit home runs in the passing game no matter what style he is forced to employ.

The only frame of reference you have outside of New England is Denver.

In that situation he was correct on Cutler, was saddled with Orton, lost Marshall, was screwed even further by getting Tebow, and sacrificed in the house cleaning for the John Elway hire.
His stint in Denver can really only be considered an incomplete.

I don't get the McDaniels hatred. He will hit double digit wins with a rookie.
He has run an offense with a 6th round qb playing game manager, he has run the most prolific and explosive big play offense in the game.
He has created gaudy numbers for superstar recievers, he has created offenses allowing middling possession receivers to shine. He has run offenses featuring dominant tight ends, running back by committee, and once in a blue moon a great workhorse running back.

I find it incredibly strange that someone would take issue with him as an oc when he has literally found success employing every conceivable offensive strategy over the years.

He has a rookie performing top in his class by selecting the style that is working at this moment... and that is what Chicago needs, is it not?
Do you think McDaniels will forget how to call a season like 2007 with 50 tds and 8 interceptions with a league leading yards per attempt just because he is catering to the strengths of a rookie at this moment in time?

Your take on McDaniels is ridiculous.

Please, if you are that down on McDaniels and his "dink and dunk" style, name another oc in the league that has had success like he has employing quite possibly the widest array of offensive schemes and philosophies anyone has cycled through, finding success in all iterations.

It is hard to believe given the struggles Fields has gone through in regards to play calling, that someone can take issue with the oc of the patriots calling games for a rookie that has resulted in the patriots leading the division, tied for most wins in their conference, and being the 3rd ranked scoring offense in the league.
