I still think he's the Week 1 QB. He's not going anywhere. Though I'd certainly have no issue being wrong here.

The packers are in a bad spot. Realistically they should fine him as it is the right thing to do not to cater to certain players, but if they do it likely damages the relationship even more and pushes him further out the door

It’s really a fascinating dilemma. If he doesn’t play, he’s going to loose a lot of cash. The Packers will likely be better off not trading him to dump the cap hit. But if he does play, who wants to force a QB to play for you.

I don’t think Rodgers is worried about losing out on cash at this point in his life. Between NFL and State Farm, he’s doing fine. Plus if they continue to fine him, he’s more than likely to retire

The fine is mandatory as per the new CBA. A team cannot opt to "not fine him".

“I would bet Rodgers, today, is solid on never playing for the Packers again“ - Peter King

I'm going out on a limb here, but I'll bet Peter King has been wrong plenty of times. I'd like for him to be right though.

For some reason I trust schefter more than you. I also can't imagine players are fined if they have a legit reason.
