With Chipper going on the DL someone will have to replace him on the team.

Will it be Aramis?

Here is his rank among NL 3B (min 250 PA)

First in WAR
2nd in BA (by .001)
2nd in OBP
1st in SLG
1st in OPS
1st in wOBA
t-1st in wRC+
1st in RBI's
1st in HR's
2nd in runs

Without thinking about it he probably should have been on the All-Star team to begin with. Does he make it now?

Seems like a logical choice, given his numbers. Especially since the dude is seriously locked in right now. Quade being one of the coaches might benefit him as well.

wow...NL 3B is horrible

Havent looked it up in the last few days, but 3B was the least productive offensive position in baseball. Behind SS, 2B, CF and C.

Even more reason to keep Aramis.

Seems Scott Rolen is the choice.

Where'd u hear that? If it's true, Aramis just got snubbed again. Really should be starting over Polanco.

Rosenthal tweets. Said Rolen was next on the players' ballot.

If they take Rolen that means both NL 3B have an OPS lower than 700. What a joke.

Actually this year has been terrible year for 3B if your name isn't Alex Rodriguez.*

*Yes I realize that Youklis is putting up numbers but he makes Aramis Ramirez look like a gold glover at 3B.

Rolen or Sandoval over Ramirez = SMH

Sandoval is actually a good player offensively. He doesn't have the numbers due to being hurt for a few weeks, but taking Sandoval over Ramirez wouldn't be nearly as bad as Rolen. If they take Rolen, the NL should ask if they can use the DH for their 3B instead of their pitchers. It isn't like they let the pitchers throw long enough that they just wouldn't be pinch hit for anyway.

Rolen AND Sandoval are getting in...

Rolen replaces Chipper per fan vote
Sandoval is likely to replace Polanco per Bochy's decision.

:smh:

And no Ramirez...

Oh well, I am okay with Ramirez getting a rest for a few days. Hopefully he can stay hot after the break and we can look to deal him after July 31st.

To be fair, if we had won more games, we'd have 3 all-stars.

Yea this is the thing that never makes sense to me about the All-Star game. I mean in 2008 the Cubs had a ridiculous number of people (many who didn't really deserve it *cough*Fukudome*cough*) in the All-Star game because of their record, and this year we have people deserving being left off because of their record.

I am just waiting for the All-Star break to get over so that we can get down to dealing away vets.
