If the niners take mac jones at 3(I expect wilson at #2), Pace BETTER trade anything he can to trade to #4 and take fields.

Fields would be a #1 pick in most QB drafts. He's a legit prospect. Even if he fails it wouldn't be like mitch where we traded up for the 20th best prospect in the draft.

I think SF drafts Fields. I don't buy the Mac Jones rumors.

at first I didn't but now I do.
Fields has a stronger arm but Jones can make all of the throws.
Fields is more athletic and ran 4.44 but Jones is mobile and ran 4.68.
What Jones has on Fields is all of the important QB traits..
-much smarter and far better processor
-way more accurate not to mention having a much better y/a - 11.2 compared to 9.3 and OSU has some athletes themselves.
-way better under pressure and when blitzed..

Who can extend plays under duress?

My favorite teams
  1. Los Angeles Lakers
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Los Angeles Kings
  1. Clemson Tigers
So teams are willing to trade down but it'll take a lot from us to get them to drop to #20....Got it and thanks for the breaking news.
hey we can always be optimistic! comment about my asshole again while you’re here!

Fields can also make all the throws, the question is can he make the reads quick enough. Also Jones is not mobile. In his pro day he was mediocre at best trying to make plays on the move. He missed some pretty easy throws because he was moving.

I like both guys, but the original reports on them are still accurate and they both have flaws. SF may prefer Jones

950 point difference, if you go by the charts. Throwing in our second (380), still leaves us 570 points short.

Also, Atlanta still wants to make an impact to help their team, and would probably want to stay inside 10-12 range to grab a top draft selection, otherwise this year is kind of dead to them and they probably don't want that or would have gotten rid of Ryan had they wanted a total rebuild right now.

I just don't think that Fields is going to be better than the quarterbacks that come out next year. Though, I am not sure that is who would be available at 4. Either way, we can get better weaponry by possibly trading back and looking to grab a QB after this dumpster fire of a year happens.

yeah, it was implied that Fields can make all of the throws.
And I should have said Jones is mobile enough because he is definitely not a statue.
I like them both too. I just said that I initially thought SF would take Fields but I can see them taking Jones because of the reasons I stated.
if Atlanta does trade down, I would be shocked if they went all of the way down to 20.

Ryan's contract is just brutal. How much must it suck to be a Falcons fan right now hearing they may trade down because they don't seem to have much choice?

If Fields is on the board at #4 I'd be down with mortgaging the future. Think we'll still be just good enough to not get the top rated QB next year.
