Omg I feel roofied. So tired. So, since I was solo yesterday I didn't do any nice food places. That and the fact my mouth is fubar due to dental issues I had soft noodles for lunch/dinner. One place at resorts world and the low mein from noodles at Bellagio table side. They were fine.

Sounds like you're on the right plan. Love the chicken/watrlermelon dish at Yardbird but I was really craving crab and IIRC the Wynn has them split at night. That sounds delicious. And so funny you mention the deli at Mirage. ALWAYS a stop for me in the past. Back when the Mirage had a legit poker room they would feed the players trays of sandwiches at 3am from the deli as a hook up. Fed me for so many nights that "one year I took off from college to try and go pro." Fond, fond memories of that place.

If you find a killer sandwich spot, please bump this thread. All about it.

I had high hopes for Greenberg deli at new york new york, but it was nowhere near Carnegie. Not even the same galaxy.
I tried twice just in case they had an off day, but no dice.

If bagel deli lives up to expectations I will let you know!

And I swear, Vegas would be the best place for a CCS meet up one day. I know it's too big, too post modern and weird, but imagine 20-30 fucks taking over a sports book. Catered food, drinks, etc. I imagine someone would die.

#Vegas2023

It would be perfect.
There is the trump casino for those inclined that way.
The food blog thread could go live.

For those with massive iggy lists, they can stay in reno.

Instead of likes, you give drinks.

At the end of it all, have a vote for the Vegas meetup hall of fame, with crowd generated categories for the awards.

If you get any great food, I am open to suggestions!

Off the strip for Thai we like Lotus of Siam. for Steak houses (which we don’t do much any more) we like Jean Georges in the Aria and really like Carbone there. Also in the Aria we really want to like Bistro Bardot (Michael Mina place) but have had mixed results. We have had good luck at Julian Serrano also in the Aria. In the Cosmopalitan China Pablano is fun (and good) and Jaleo is very good, too. Milk Bar is great for sweets and Egg Slut for breakfast. In the Bellagio we like Yellowtail for sushi and Lago for seafood. We used to like Prime but our last experience there sucked. We also enjoy Yardbird in the Venetian. I have dined at Delmonico’s many times on guy trips, and enjoyed it, primarily for their liberal corkage policy! We love Bouchon in the Venetian, too. High end we like Guy Savoy the best followed by Twist and Picasso. High end disappointments are “E” and Joel Robulchon.

LMAO- I did egg slut a couple years back because of the name alone- it was pretty damn good.... But the egg chairs were uncomfortable...lol.

You mention disappointments- The biggest let down I ever had out there was Guy Fieri's place.
The burger was decent, but not even close to notable.
The fries were the super huge letdown.
They sounded amazing- a mix of every fry style... thin, thick, steak, crinkle, and waffle.

I assumed they would cook them individually based on style of fry, but no- looks like they did them all at once. Just a big, soggy, homogenous clump of greasy potatoes.

Difficult to get decent fries just about anywhere these days.

From what I can tell, fry cooks are now trained to do the following:

1. Turn on the fryer, any temp 300-400 will do just fine.
2. After an ambiguous amount of time, toss in handfuls of potatoes you got out of a partially frozen bag.
3. Cook these anywhere from 20 seconds to 2 minutes.
4. Dump into a tray, stuff greasy partially-cooked fries to the bottom.
5. Cherry pick a few crispy ones that look decent, throw those on top.

They get busy and just keep dumping more potatoes into an already under-temp fryer, producing worse and worse batches of shitty fries until the day is over.

Cooking prepped potatoes in a fryer should be one of the easiest jobs in the fucking world.
