WOOT! it's a sign boyz . . .

After beating the Lions on Thanksgiving, the Bears find themselves only one game back of the NFC’s final playoff spot. No matter if the Washington Football Team wins or loses on Monday Night, the seventh seed will belong to a team with a 5-6 record, with the Bears sitting at 4-7.

Could Matt Nagy be the first coach in NFL history to make the playoffs three out of four years and STILL get fired????

BEARS
When 2 of those years are likely a .500 or below record, I’d say yes, he gets axed...but the Bears aren’t making the playoffs this year. The PIT/BAL losses are too much to overcome. They needed at least one of those games if not both.

PIT / BAL are AFC teams. It was HUGE both the Vikings and Panthers lost yesterday.

The key game is the Vikings. If the Bears somehow sweep Minnesota <which they have done before> then it starts to get real interesting.

4-2 finish is a playoff lock!!!

The problem is the defense is really banged up, they have 1 good player in the secondary, and Fields is still green…that’s not even taking into account the train wreck that is Matt Nagy

Just imagine how pretty they'd be sitting if the Bears won those two games (Pittsburgh which was stolen by the refs, and Baltimore which was lost due to last-minute CB ineptitude).

One game at a time. Let's just focus on beating the Cardinals. Block out the noise. Be You.

Arizona will turn off that sign momentarily

They would have a better overall record, but the Lions would still be the only NFC team they have beaten this year...which is not very helpful in tie breaker scenarios.

This is why I'm not crying over those being losses. Replacing Nagy is arguably more important than draft position. This team has talent and wins in spite of him and loses often because of him. Can't tell me his ability to waste all 3 time outs didn't contribute to BAL loss. Lack of balls to call out the refs vs PIT. And a dozen other F-ups we've seen for years now.

Jackson sticking up for him like a good soldier is like the spoiled kid loving that his parents don't give a shit if he studies or fucks around.

every team is banged up . . .

-Christian McCaffrey got hurt again and is out for the year . . .
-Vikings running back Dalvin Cook most likely out for the year with a torn labrum . . .
-Russell Wilson and the Seahawks having a down year . . .season ended today Seattle would have a top 5 pick. Who woulda thunk after winning 12 games last year.
-Rodgers is playing with a fractured pinky toe. All it takes is one 300 pound lineman to stomp his toe!
etc
etc

It just goes to show, "build for next year" can never apply in the NFL. Too many x-factors that can crop up. It's the win now league!

Just need to beat the Vikings twice. The vikings like losing to the bears late in the season. It'd be a plus for them too, as they'd get rid of Zimmer.

The bears never win the Lombardi trophy but they always seem to win participation trophies.

There's about 7 teams between the Bears and that spot, though, so no, not gonna happen. When can we stop talking about playoffs for one of the NFL's worst teams? After the loss to the Cardinals? After the loss in Lambeau the week after?
