It's really a mess. But the projected cap is like $35mil less than it would have been with no pandemic, so many teams are going to be up against it next year unless they figure out some way to spread the 2020 financial damage into several future years.

I think there's a pretty good chance the baseline cap is around $190-95mil next year, not $175 as spotrac indicates.

No that is his dead cap if he were cut. HIs cap hit is 5 million. His cap hits are fine. The problem is he is basically uncuttable no matter how bad he is because he costs cap space to cut.

They are going to have to make cuts just to tag Allen Robinson.

Oh my bad. Your post didn't say that so thought you thought it was his cap hit this year.

Cutting Leno, Massie and Graham gets you to 13.5 million cap space. Restructure Hicks and Fuller probably gets you to 20 million or so. Not ideal but doable.

Sorry but ARob probably has to walk. Again, this is why we should have started the process of getting OL and WRs this past draft.

Hooper and Claypool/OL probably a lot better long term than 1 year Jimmy Graham and Kmet.

Bears still have to extend Robinson plus Hicks expires at the end of next season as well. They don’t have much money to play with.

The big problem on there is Trevathan but he seems to have picked it up a little bit lately. Leno is the other, but the rest aren't going to be cut. Cutting Massie isn't a big deal if they get a replacement, but in that event, would rather replace Leno and get another year out of Massie if possible.
