There’s not many options on the table though.

1. Throw everything at the Texans for Watson.
2. Stick with our current or trade for a journeyman QB.
3. Throw everything to draft a top QB.
4. Draft a QB at our current position

If (more then likely) #1 doesn’t work out, the options become significantly worse.

With a great GM and a solid HC that would be a really difficult situation to make work.

With Pace and Nagy, the Bears are fucked.

Besides WInston who is an option that could turn out to be a real starting QB. Winston has some issues but has thrown for over 5000 yards in in one season and has these stats in a 5 year playing career? Take the "throw it deep on every play" year with Arians out and he is a lot closer to Farve stats in his early career. Easy to say he sucks but who else can the Bears get without mortgaging the next 3 years drafts / cap and is young enough to give them a longer run as a starter?

You can’t take the Arians year out though,

I wonder why Sean Payton, basically knowing this is probably Brees’ last year would of used Hill instead of Winston. Now why would Brees tell a third string quarterback that he is now the quarterback of the team.
lotta questions.
I believe familiarity with the offense, not talent for sure. Winston was probably missing adjustments and reads, Hill wouldn't. Hill was the better option at that point...Hill isn't a better QB talent wise. I think Brees saw his progression while out with injury.

Over his first four seasons 2015 to 2018 Winston averaged 14 ints a season......then 2019 happened. I would say 2019 is the exception and his first four years totals is the norm for right now which is still high but workable.
he also averaged 22 TDs in that time...

an average of 22 and 14 is meh....

Possible but Brees went down after the 9th week and Jameis wasn’t ready to play? Doesn’t sound like a thing Sean Payton would do. I’m sure Sean played the person he thought gave them the best chance to win

I agree...I think Hill did give them the best chance to win....I just think Winston sitting on bench and learning that side of the game may have helped him. I dont think he will ever be good...but he is slightly above average and better than Mitch/Foles.

More meh.....27 and 18, numbers the new Golden Boy of Tinsel Town Savior of LA and new face of the Rams Matthew Stafford put up in his first four full seasons. How much were the Bears willing to give up for Stafford? Winston/Stafford are the same guy.......Winston is just younger. Would I as a fan be happy with either one, no not really. Would the Bears make this move, yes without a doubt.

Stafford is better than Winston. Saying Winston is just like Stafford is football ignorant.

Surprised to see so many in support of a convicted rapist. Weird.

Who am I kidding, this is CCS and you all are shitbirds, so I'm actually not at all surprised.

Fitzmagic or Winston gets the team minimum 9 wins.

Sounds to me like a winner winner chicken dinner ?

I think Winston is a shit stain and likely did what he was accused of, but you need a better working knowledge of how to use the word convicted.

Is he not an aging journeyman vet QB? Maybe 'aging' was a poor word to use as you took it extremely literal as in he's old. He's going on his 6th year in the league and has thrown 88 picks. Oh and he hardly played this year. The Saints opted to play Hill who is hardly a QB over him in the absence of Drew Brees. And he's about to be on his 3rd team in 3 years. Aging journeyman vet.

If Pace wants to go this route, he might as well just stick with Foles and not waste his time or cap space. Your ideal scenario of signing Winston is preposterous and as you conveniently ignored in my initial post is exactly the thing the Bears have done since Pace came it. It's not a winning formula.

That says it all doesn't it.
