They always do. So they can sell 100k tickets.
Seems like a waste of time going to a basketball game and then sitting a quarter mile away…..but whatever floats their boats I guess

Congratulations Bears. As someone from Lake County Indiana I can tell you that you have officially conceded all of Indiana to the Colts. Even though I moved away years ago, I’ve always been able to answer the countless idiots who asked “why aren’t you a Colts fan if you’re from Indiana” by responding “because I grew up 30 minutes from Soldier Field and 2 and a half hours from Trump humping red neck park or wherever the fuck the inbred Colts play.” Now that the Bears are moving like 100 miles from the Indiana border my rationale is gone, and so is 10% of Chicagoland.

Ummm, they have absolutely not. I know at least 20 STHs from Indiana and many more Bear fans. Northwest Indiana is Bear country…always has been always will be. For the record the answer I give the idiots is that the Colts didn’t move to Indy until 1984, I was a Bears fan years before that.

I like the snow but I'm down with a retractable roof for extreme weather events. Horrendous rain or extreme heat/cold do kind of kill the whole experience as a fan.
Like I said….as long as it isn’t closed for football games I’m kool with it.

Why would you re-renovate Soldier Field….how would you change it and wouldn’t it cost close to the same amount just to build brand new?

because Soldier Field is owned by the city and ran by the Chicago Park District and its about maximizing that space. Now they could say that just tearing it doing and starting over may be feasible but the the reality is the city actually needs a multiuse stadium adjacent to McCormick place and the Casino to really maximize those tourism dollars .

Imagine

Huge Multi-use stadium
Casino
Sportsbook
E-Sports Facility
McCormick place for displays and exhibits

all within walking or people move distances . Its gonna come to that its all about how do you bring everyone else to that realization

I remember back in the late 50's early 60's, SF had a race track inside. They would hold a "Demolition Derby" there. Once a year they held a "Thrill Show" put on by the fire department.

Fun times and great memories

Ha, great description of so many Colts fans.

the question who is going to shell out 3-4 billion for a new stadium? Saw a tweet bringing that up.

This shows how the Bears ownership about Chicago, or Bears fans that live in the city and fill their seats. They are showing themselves to be moneygrubbers interested in their pocketbooks rather than operating a team with a history in the city that helped make the Bears what they are. I became a Bears fan in 1964, I will stop being a Bears the day they leave the city...I know I am in the minority so don't pile on.
So basically, like every other franchise owner.

Is there space in this state for two teams, or would we be opposed to dividing the fanbase? I kinda think the southern part of the state deserves to have a stadium too, instead of having to travel 5 hours upstate
There is a space available. It’s in Arlington Heights.

thats not nice
It's better since the condos went in over the old capital centre land. But yes, that's on the outskirts of Seat Pleasant which is not pleasant at all and very murderous.
But the skins are a team that has sucked so hard that many teams fans travel very well and it can make for good tailgating.
The actual stadium experience eats every bag of dicks however. Would not recommend.

Snyder has huge, mega plans for a new stadium at old RFK site or the National Harbour. If he is remembered for anything it will be the mega stadium he is about to erect.

speaking of erect. @msadows wanna talk about dicks?
