I'd be open to him as a coach, but with a new team president and new GM hiring him. I just don't see McDaniels leaving New England to be a HC somewhere without full autonomy (hiring his own GM and being able to pull the strings himself).

I think McDaniels sees himself as the next in line to be HC after BB leaves (which could be a while, but I don't think McDaniels cares). If McDaniels didn't want full control- he would've left for Indy, but he didn't.

I've said this in other threads, but if McDaniels wants full control I'd easily pass on that.

McD is a total flake. He fucked up in Denver, then pulled out of Indy's coaching job after he had essentially been hired. Not to mention that it seems the Patriots success is a sum of it's parts. Their guys seem to be better assistants than HCs. I don't want him. I think he'd end up as a total disaster. Just doesn't seem like a guy that should be in charge.

A shit ton of people were on him last time, and I was not. Then he pulled the shit in Indianapolis after they had started hiring assistants and set up a press conference. Give me Kellen Moore.

You new to CCS?

Let you in on a funny story. back in the offseason for 2015, just about everyone and their mother was pulling for Chris Ballard to be the next Bears GM, and most reporters had it as a done deal.

We had on our forum a guy by the name of Aaron Leming, who through some odd circumstance said he had an actual source at Halas Hall, and said no, contrary to the reports, Ryan Pace would be the next GM.

Well, as you would expect, all the trolls and ne'er-do-wells came out of the woodwork and roasted the guy alive here on the forums. All the same bullshit they lay on ANYONE who wants to get into speculative Bears news. They hammered this poor dude like nothing else...

And he ended up being RIGHT.

Not only that, but he was the ONLY one who called it basically anywhere. That got him an interview on the radio, which then he seized on with a few more things based on his "insider info" that ended up right, and then he flipped it completely into a sports journalism career.

While all the jackasses here are still the same mental midgets they've always been.

Just slap the trolls on ignore. They are stupid and never learn. And taking away their ability to troll by ignoring them is the one way to win. There's still plenty of us who enjoy just talking Bears here, even if it is all speculation, as we are mature enough to know most of it is just killing time talking about our favorite football team anyway, so we don't get all self-righteous keyboard-warrior over it...
Lemming still around? I follow him on Twitter and hope he's doing well.

As he had a correct source since Pace? I'm just curious if his source or sources dried up.

We have an actual real journalist on CCS.
I would consider Aaron more of a blogger/Twitter “celebrity”. He hasn’t had a real source in years although at the time you mentioned he clearly did. And this is not a shot at Aaron…. He’s a nice guy and a good follow.

100% agree. And I think I know who you are talking about, because there is one journo who's always hawking CCS gear on twitter.

I actually stopped following Aaron because his sources dried up, and his football opinions were really kinda stupid.

But nice guy and God bless him for parlaying that little bit of success into a living.

Great share and I've never heard it, but not surprised.

I think its very similar to why Angelo couldn't land Saban. Saban wanted way more control than what Angelo was willing to give up.

It'll be the same with McDaniels and the only track record he has of having full autonomy was in Denver, which was a dumpster fire.

What's interesting is the Bears are now looking at a new GM. And while they may bring in the GM first to make things look normal, it could be McDaniels pick for GM.

No disrespect to the OP, but as often as this blogger was being shared here was a big reason I faded away from this board the past few years.

We've all had bad calls, but this guy is cringe on just about every take he has. I'll never get over his call on Twitter of Matt Barkley (currently with the Bears at the time) to be the next Kirk Cousins (who was currently with Washington at the time). Multiple people showed him the many differences between the two and he just got upset and blocked them.

Whatever he gets paid to post the garbage he posts is too much.
We should sign a petition to have his content banned from CCS.

I can see this pipe dream is still trying to be willed into reality by a bunch of fucking nerds that think Twitter is "the news".

I would say McDaniels would have to be the Defacto GM if hired. That would lead me to an experienced NFL executive like Rick Smith as President of Football Operations. That is a combo I could live with.

I wanted Josh McDaniels as the Packers HC in 2019.
Rodgers in a McDaniels offense could have the potential to be the greatest thing since sliced bread or the worst idea since Greedo shooting first. the latter point, that's a lot of ego to go around.

What sports journalism career? He does freelance articles for Bear Report just like I did. He does a podcast with the new publisher for that site just like I did. Yeah he had a source for the Brandon Marshall trade and a couple other things but things dried up for him long time ago.

The Bears run an even tighter ship now as a result of Lemming. Not trying to blame the kid for anything but almost no one has any sources inside Halas Hall that are very accurate.

Think about how long Brad Biggs has been the #1 Bears beat writer for the Chicago Tribune which is the largest newspaper in Chicago and consider how often Biggs has almost NO INSIDE INFORMATION OR SOURCES.

Speculation is fun but for the Bears it's also almost always been wrong because no one knows except maybe three people.

Ah yes, I remember now - you were one of the ones who were a total bitch to him because he scooped your ass.

Thanks for the reminder!
