QBs are going to miss easy throws. The problem is if the Oline is bad , the QB is more likely to miss these easy throws due to not being comfortable in pocket.

The Oline has to get better. Tua wasn’t good in his second year. Look at him now with all the weapons he has. The Dolphins can’t win without him. Bridge water sucks

Remember how hard Lovie Smith’s Bears played out of A break and how God Awful Nagy looked ?

This Should tell us A lot about Coach Flus.

Sure, I'll play:
  • Bench Mustipher and insert Patrick at Center
  • If Leatherwood is healthy (fully recoverd from Mono) insert him at LG.
    • If he isn't, I would go Schofield and then Reiff at LG
      • Schofield came in for a few plays against Washington at LG and didn't look that bad, granted it was only 3 or 4 plays
  • I would leave Jenkins at RG as he has settled in there and is our best linemen.
    • Braxton Jones will be a solid LT once he fills out. Pretty small considering he is 6'5. Hit that weightroom young man.
Now for the most important part:
  • Lock Getsy in a room and have him watch on a continuous loop the offenses for Lamar Jackson, Jalen Hurts and Josh Allen and let him know THAT is the offense we should be running
  • Fit Getsy with a shock collar around his neck and his balls
    • First time he goes back to "his system" he gets a shock to the neck...The second time, a shock to the balls
Here is the thing (and its way to similar to Nagy, which scares the shit out of me) as bad as we are, we are about 3 plays away from being 5-1 instead of 2-4.
  • This, probably more than anything, is what is driving all of us batshit crazy this season. We didn't expect to be world beaters but this is a down year for the NFL.
  • The fact that any semblance of an offense like Baltimore, Buffalo, Eagles and we are probably 5-1. The Packers game is the only game we were really out-gunned from start to finish.

There won’t be any drastic changes. The only one that could have been made was replacing Mustipher with Patrick but that went bye bye with Whitehairs injury.

All they can do is hope bad players get less bad and they all grow within the new scheme.

based in part?

YES..... I have a "confirmed bias" toward keeping our first round drafted Qb up right and healthy for the rest of the season. Do you want to see our Qb healthy for the rest of the season? If so, how do we make it happen?
Whatever David Kaplan says I'm 101% behind.

I don’t mind when teams that are rebuilding okay young guys to see what they have and give them experience but……

You should have done something about Braxton Jones… inexcusable.

Poles played this all wrong…. You have to put some talent on offensive line if you are to seriously evaluate Fields…

You wanna get rid of as many excuses as possible to also see if Fields is shit too…

But now everyone will say there’s no way one can know if ge is or isn’t the guy we want at QB

Unless….. he never really wanted him in first place.

Early signs show Poles is not a good evaluator of talent at the position he was supposed to really know!!! Davenport, Dozier, Patrick, Reiff and Schofield?????????

That’s embarrassing for a prior o lineman—- he’s still probably trying to prove ge should have played in the nfl by bringing in and drafting guys that were just like him but he was wrong, they suck like he did!

His Ego is killing the team too, only good linemen are from Pace and ge can’t stand that!

Jenkins debacle also doesn’t look good either…. Fucking Wednesdays???????????

Put Jenkins at LT, guarantee you he dominates in comparison to BJ.

Patrick at center is probably just a wash at best vs Mustipher.

Try leatherwood or kellen Diesch. He played awesome in small sample of pre season.

Borom is fine at right tackle, Jenkins at LT or leatherwood bc we have zero guard strength with Whitehair out.

There’s probably one or two lineman that could be better— maybe blow Jc tretter out of retirement.

It’s not about winning, it’s about Fields, evaluation and now just keeping him from dying or ruining him

Poles is like Nagy and wants to be smartest man in the room— playing a fifth round rookie at LT was wrong, he’s too weak, he’s technically not that bad but it’s proven that he can’t hold up to a bullrush, happens like ten times a game.
Calm down Mel Kiper. He had limited cap, and a shit roster to flip. Put your pitchfork down and give him an off season where he’s not budget buying 60% of a roster.

It starts with getting mustipher off the field

Patrick might not be much better but he was the lone OL signing to play......CENTER.....put him there Monday.

At some point they should see if Leatherwood can be a find....at LG.....now is the chance with witehair out.....assuming he's fit after mono he should get 1st crack at LG.

Not sure Reiff does much but he may be an option at LT....at a minimum they should consider giving Jones help with a TE lined up next to him.

From there....start tailoring the offense to Fields or call quick hitters/boots/play action all day long

you realize teams are taking the boot away? they know

Good points

......and the coaching staff
They should create another new position. Listener of the tv/radio announcers. For example on 4th and 1 the commentators said not to run up the middle against the strength of the defense. I think they also said to call more plays that cater to the strengths of Justin.

This but it's certainly not a drastic change and something planned from before the season. Lines was supposed to be Patrick at C and Whitehair on the left Whitehair can't come back before Nov. so the question becomes, who can play LG but it will; be temporary. That and expect Harry back but these aren't really changes. They're restitutions of a projected lineup from before the season even began.

Man reading through my Twitter today and the Chicago media is damn pathetic.

Anything to generate a quarterback controversy, because they know we have a subset of fans who are really dumb and will click on all of that shit. Shit we've seen that even in this forum.

They're out in force today trying to reinforce that *wink**wink**nod**nod* Justin Fields is shit, but they didn't actually say it and instead quoted some guys stat from ESPN so that if Fields doesn't end up being shit, they can claim they weren't really saying that.

Sports media is a bunch of clickbaiting bastards Jesus ????

while i dont expect it to happen, seeing borom moved inside to LG, patrick at center and jenkins to RG with rieff at RT would be nice to see until leatherwood is ready to make his debut at RT.

I suspect they're projecting Leatherwood to G.

I think that Jones is playing pretty well. Yeah, he needs to bulk up some but he is pretty good technique wise.Add about 20 pounds of muscle and play him the rest of the season and see what happens.

I am assuming that on Monday we will see an Oline consisting of :

Jones
Patrick
Mustipher
Schoefield
Borom

We all know why.....Wednesday practice...and oh yah......Eberflus and Poles have some sort of hardon for their best offensive lineman.

At a certain point.......nobody believes anything coming from your mouth.

You can’t “add 20 lbs of muscle” like you’re ordering a Big Mac

Did people really think the Bears would be a good team this year? Wasn’t it obvious with the trades and dead cap space that this season was a write off?

I only watched a about a minute and a half of the video because I don’t like Kaplan’s style, but laying the blame on Poles seems ridiculous at this point. The team is rebuilding and Poles has been clear about that. He has stuck to the plan he laid out, including saying he would find value in the later part of free agency. He waited for the second phase of free agency. The value is certainly questionable, but it is affordable.

I agree with some of this and Poles overall plan but he still has to be able to recognize and draft talent.

The players that he brought in this off-season were so horrible that I’m scared he isn’t up to the task, especially the oline.

He’s a former scrub lineman and was supposed to have an eye for line talent.

Then why even entertain the idea of bringing in a Davenport or a Dakota Dozier???

Lucas Patrick got all this hype and I’m not so sure he’s an upgrade over Mustipher and if he is, it’s marginal at best.

The guy he wanted to pay 40 million to has been pretty bad this year for Pittsburgh.

It’s easy to have a plan but to successfully implement it is a whole other ball game.

I wouldn't give 40 million for that guy. I think his price is way overpriced. And anyway, the new team members don't look inspired and ready to win.
