Once they signed Trufant, it didn't matter. I prefer Fuller but Trufant is a viable CB.

Simply put, Fuller doesn’t fit the scheme. Truant does.

With our pass rush, we need strong cover corners that can take away those quick passes. Fuller always played off the WR, giving ample space for easy underneath completions. Trufant can do a lot more...IF he can stay healthy.

The truth is it’s hard to judge him off of the year he had in Detroit. That entire D was garbage.

Also he isn’t Fuller’s replacement. That role goes to JJ and that was always the plan IMO but the plan got punched in the face and pushed into motion a year early thanks to the covid cap crunch.

IMO Pace is trying to recreate the Fuller/Prince combo ie a solid vet paired with an up and comer.

Don’t get me wrong losing Fuller was a genuine kick in the dick and I’m just now starting to sew mine back on but life moves on.
