I'm looking at a new career..

Anyone know any training or schooling..

This is something that I've had an interest in for awhile.. and trying to find something for schooling that's not a DeVry..

Well it's a broad field. My first business was building recording studios, engineering and repairing equipment, and audio tech in general. I still have a few customers who only want me doing their work, despite changing subject matters.

I never went to school, I'm just a natural when it comes to anything that is highly technical. So I can't suggest anything. I have also noticed that the best engineers in the world are self-trained/drop-outs.

What do you want to do exactly?

Well my intersts in it are pretty broad also..

I pretty much enjoy any part of audio technology..

I set up home theater systems for family/friends. Used to run a soundboard at my church during high school.

Just something I've enjoyed and the more I think about it.. The more I feel its right for me.

Well good luck man. If it was 1999, I would have work for you. But now a days, the landscape is very different. This is a field that requires a lot more networking than know-how, so if anything, that would be ideal for what school you choose. I still think you can do just fine independently trained as well, if you just want to do some projects and expand your expertise.

How are you with circuitry?

So no goals? Like, do you want to monitor the stack at a radio station or work a booth for a security firm analyzing surveillance? Roadie? :)

I was thinking about doing this last year, met with counselor a few times and everything. But figured for now at least, it may not be worth the cost in the long run.

Good luck.
